I really agree with saying, "Rice Is Life". This is one of the most important to all people specially in southeast asean countries. I would like to share my entry for the next challenge initiated by our friend @justinparke rigarding with the topics about Rice. If we base of science, Rice is rich of carbohydrates that needs to our body to produce more energy. This will help us so that we can perform our tasks and obligations very well. It is also rich in Sugar that can make sweating while working or doing work out.

Rice is very important to us, well not all of us. Some people preferred to eat wheat, cereals, breads, sweet potatoes and oats instead of eating rice. This are also their choices and we have different in taste. It takes many days and months before we harvested the rice. Every grains is very important and we should not waste it.

Because of rice we can eat and gain more energy. We cooked rice three times a day and other terms we called it a meal. Here in our country, we have different kinds of rice displayed in the Supermarket. Some of the rice I know are:

  • Dinorado rice
  • Young Master rice
  • Red rice
  • Sinamdomeng rice
  • Broken Rice
  • Jasmine Rice

This are some of rice I know and all of it are good to cook. In Eatery or Restaurants, rice is very important. The chef will cook the rice in different styles just like fried rice and boiled rice. This can also very perfect for grinding it to make Poto delicacy. Poto is a kind of food or snacks and it is good for a business porpuses also.

Rice is also very highly demand in some parts of the place, because they really needed it in order for them to have meals everyday.

I remember during my childhood days, we actually eat corn instead of rice but after many months, we decided to eat rice. For me, this kind of food does not need any viands as long as it is rice, I already happy for it. My Parents was laughing at me when they heard what I am saying.

We should be very happy and proud that we have plenty of rice we eat. We should not wasted the rice because it is not very easy to cultured this.

I would like to invite everyone to join this challenge, I really looking forward to read your unique entry post.

Thank you very much..

Rice is indeed life, thanks for joining the challenge. You have many kinds of rice there, here in Cambodia there are only 5 or 6 that are common, Jasmine probably the most popular kind. I prefer long grain fluffy rice like Indian basmati, but because Cambodia doesn't have it, brown Jasmine rice is the closest thing.

Do you have brown rice there? Here it is still very hard to find because only the big commercial mills can produce it. The small household machines aren't precise enough to produce it, so we always source it from far away and have it sent by a shipping agent.

Here in our place, it is also very difficult to find brown rice. It is very expensive here, but very delicious and good to eat. We also importing more rice from other places, in fact there are lots of ships that carried imported rice and this will be distributed to the supermarket.

Thank you very much for stopping my friend. :) Have a nice day.

Thanks for posting in the ASEAN Hive Community.
