And this year, @outlinez and I grew one of our favorite spices in our garden - savory.
I planted it from seeds in an open bed. When the seeds grew and the seedlings were large enough to be transplanted, I thinned out the seedlings which were dense.
The savory grew large, fragrant and healthy.
When it started to bloom I collected it and tied it into bundles.
I put the bundles in a dry and ventilated place away from sunlight.
When it was dry, I scooped out the savory by hand and sifted it.
The finished savory is aromatic and fresh. I store it in paper bags and at home we use it daily for seasoning.
