Namaste!
The chilli plants I grew last time suddenly shrunk after their first fruiting and died within a few days. After those plants died, when I changed their pots, I came to know that it was all due to overwatering. Whereas those pots had proper drainage holes and due to rains I was not even watering them. But anyway, the roots got damaged due to continuous wetness for a long time due to which the rate of growth of the plants decreased and they died.
But this is the cycle of life. I learned from that experience and sowed some new seeds, and after some time they also grew to about 2 to 3 feet tall. These are their pictures below.
Initially dozens of flowers bloomed on them but not a single one turned into fruit. That sequence continued for about 2 months, new flowers would bloom then dry up and fall off without turning into fruits.
Then obviously I took care of regular fertilizer, water and enough sunlight as per the needs of this plant and then, about a month ago, amidst the monsoon rains, flowers once again bloomed on these plants and this time each flower started the journey of turning into a fruit.
And this time, the growth of these flowers into fruits was so good and fast that within about 2 weeks, I plucked many chillies from these plants and used them in my daily food and their taste and freshness was amazing.
And this time the size of these chillies is also quite big and they are less spicy and more aromatic and refreshing, due to which the aroma of these chillies is very pleasant to eat. Especially in green salad and with fresh vegetables!🥰
This is the third corp of these chillies and this time my wife said to wait for a few more days, if these chillies turn red while still on the plants, then their aroma and taste may also be a little different, then it will be more fun to eat them.
However, I do not completely agree that any green chilli will turn red if it remains on the plant for too long. I can't say with certainty but perhaps the red chilli plants are different. Hopefully, we will get to know about this in the next few days and if what my wife says is proved right, then I will definitely show you these same plants laden with red chillies. Hope you all will remain with me like this and soon we will discuss more new plants and their development.
