Namaste!
Just 10 days ago, I had planted my home grown sprouted potatoes in a medium sized pot and had even shared the whole process in a blog.
Today, after just 10 days, the growth of those potato sprouts became so good that I felt I should now start working on the second step of growing potatoes at home.
Here, you can see the growth of just 4 days. This super fast growth is surprising even for me.
As if the potatoes were desperate to grow and as soon as they found soil, they started flourishing.
This is the growth after 2 days till 8th November. The plants have grown up to 4 to 5 inches and thankfully there is no disease of any kind on them.
The above pictures were taken on 9 November, just 24 hours later. Usually I don't take pictures so frequently, but these potato plants were growing so fast that I myself was excited to capture their growth.
Not only was the size of these plants increasing day by day, but their roots had also started to show above the soil, and this seemed like the right time to me to add more soil to the pot to give the potatoes a better place to grow.
So after 2 days, on 11th November, when these plants had grown bigger than the height of the pot, I added more soil to them up to about 4-5 inches.
Here you can see the pot after filling it with more soil. I have added soil mix without cutting the lower leaves. Apart from garden soil, mainly bonemeal fertilizer, coco peat and sand have been added in soil mix which is favorable for the growth of potatoes.
Now the journey from here will be a little longer. Hopefully in 20 to 30 days these plants will grow further and beautiful flowers will bloom on them, Then I will share their growth with you in another blog. I hope you liked this blog and learned something good from my gardening.
