Just a few days ago, while scrolling on Instagram, I came across a short video that showed an almond tree. To be honest, that was the first time I saw an almond tree, that too with lots of blooming flowers, and that feeling was like love at first sight for me. π
You may not find this something different or special, as I am often in a hangover of such loving feelings towards plants, but believe me, this feeling was something different.

I don't know if you already knew that almond blossoms look just as mesmerizing as cherry blossoms. Now maybe you can understand my eagerness to grow an almond tree that too with almond at home.
Although this is not a condition, I just like to grow plants from seeds as much as possible. So after watching that video on Instagram, with heart in my eyes,π I reached YouTube to take lessons on growing almonds at home. Many people shared different ways to sprout almonds since this was my first time so I planned to try a few of those methods. Let's see those methods.
First of all, I separated some almonds of different sizes. There was no specific reason behind taking different sizes, I just wanted to keep a different variety from my side.
Now, according to a method, the first step was to wet a tissue paper a little with hand and wrap the dry almonds in it.
So I did the same and along with putting the almonds on the tissue paper, I also put 2 small cinnamon sticks in it so that they do not get any kind of fungus.
In the second step, I had to put that in a container, cover the almonds with the other side of the paper, and put a lid on it.
And the last step was to place this container in your refrigerator. Well, I don't know the reason for this, but probably the temperature of the refrigerator would be the best for the germination of almond seeds and since this was the last and most important part of this method, so for now, I just follow the steps.
According to another method, I soaked a few almonds for about 18 hours after which they had to be taken out and prepared for germination in 2 different ways.
Here you can see the difference in their shape and size and 18 hours deep dive. However, I am going to use only 2 of these and I will soak the remaining one in water again as it has to be put for germination after soaking for about 36 to 48 hours.
For the second method, I have taken a small seed-growing cup and filled it with a mix of sand, coco peat, and garden soil.
After this, with the pointed side of the almond facing downwards, I planted it about halfway in the soil and poured a few drops of water on top. This is important because the seed was already in water for 18 hours, so now very little water will be poured into the soil.
After which I covered this tiny cup with cling wrap and placed it near the kitchen window.
According to the third method, I wrapped the seeds soaked in water for 18 hours in normal dry paper and without adding even a drop of water, closed them in a container and kept them near the same kitchen window.
Now these seeds will hopefully germinate in the next 10 to 15 days and even if they don't, I will give you a complete update on this in another blog. Because we have to keep trying until we learn! βπΌ
