We are in the planting season, and I have been involved in planting activities, I tilled the soil in my garden and I plant some crops that I want to make harvest when the time comes, I plant crops a few days ago, after i finish tilling the soil.
So today I was in the garden and I noticed some crops has started to germinate, and this makes me happy, I look at each planting space to see if the crops are coming out in full force, because when once you take a look, you will know if the crops are coming out of the ground with strength, I mean strongly, any crop that is not growing bountifully, the particular crops is in need of a fertilizer so that it can germinate very well.
Luckily for me, it was after making the ridges that it rains, the first rain was not so much, but the second rain dipped into the soil which makes some crops to start germinating.
I was so happy because it looks like a good time, so the sun warm up the cassava stems and some other crops in the ground for a few days and it was not long again, just as I expected, a heavy rain falls on the ground.
There is an orange I saw germinating from root on the farm, it was so pretty, so I am thinking of pulling the orange tree out of the soil and cultivate it on another place since I already have a big one next to it.
The mango tree at the edge of the garden is turning into a big tree, with so many mango fruits, it is bearing its first fruits, in a few months we will have lots of fruits to eat on the farm.
This particular water yam germinates so much faster than others, and it surprised me with its sudden growth, while others are not even coming out of the ground yet, although I took a look and noticed in just a few days to come, everything would be growing so well.
This is a sweet yam, it has a very fast germination also, sweet yam has a circle of leaves that can cover other plants, that is why many gardeners tends to plant them in a separate piece of land, so they would not use their leaves to cover other plants because that could cause delay in the life cycle of the crop.
Sweet yam has a different taste than other yams, it is why many people nowadays consider it more useful than in the past, I have also planted many and am waiting to see them come out of the ground.
