A good day to all of you my fellow gardeners out there, I hope you have a great day so far. I've been engaging in gardening for a long time and I'm a fan of using organic fertilizers to be applied to my plants.

Just like what I applied to my string beans before which I used the leaves of Madre Cacao that is a source of nitrogen. It went well so far and made my plant to grew healthy and giving me a lof of yields now.

I did it also to my chillies that's why they are doing well now also and has a lot of fruits already. I've been searching on the internet what are the other things that I can use to make an organic fertilizers and I stumble on banana parts which is rich in potassium. Potassium plays a great role in plants growth that's why whenever we have ripe bananas, I'm not throwing it away and putting it directly to my plants.

This time we have ripe bananas and I used it's part to make an organic liquid fertilizer. As you can see in the photos I sliced it in small sizes. The parts I used are banana peels and the part where it's fruits is intact.

After slicing both of it, I put it in a container then poured a hot water and tap water later on. I put it in one corner in our house anf covered it. I will let it sit there overnight and I will use it tomorrow to water my chillies.

Before I forgot, I also added egg shells. Just like the banana parts, I did't throw away it's shells whenever we have eggs here. I pulverized it using a stone and I added it on the container. With that I will have calcium.

Preparing the area where I will plant my chayote.

As you have read in my blog the other day that my chayotes had grown very well already and starting to climb up. That's why this day after I did that above, I immediately prepared the area where I will permanently place it.

Since there's a guava beside the area which can shade my plant later on, I trimmed it's branches. My cousin was the one who took photos of me doing it but the result is not that well and here it is.

I also get some bamboos that will serve as their permanent poles. I will assemble it in a way wherein the fruits of the chayote will hang.

While I was cleaning off the branches that I cut, there are creatures that I met which gave me chills hihi.
IMG_20230224_194458.JPG
Well who's not if you encounter a creature like this. I bet this one is deadly. just look at those spikes. Who knows what will happen if it contact your skin or your eyes, oh my.
IMG_20230224_194337.JPG
And another creatures also which are racing who will reach the end first haha. That's what they are doing when I'm trying to capture them. I didn't dare to touch those since I know that they can harm me so I just let them there and throw them away. I didn't kill them since they have a life also and believe me , other people will kill it with no hesitation just because they are harmful( if you touch them ofcourse lol).

So leave them be wherever they are in order for you to be safe and will not blame them afterwards.

That's what happened today and I thank you once again for reading.

-Plant, plant and you'll survive.

This is a good recipe. I like natural fertilizer too, but don't have banana parts. I saw one not long ago, using egg shells and vinegar I think. So I'm collecting eggshells now and soon I''m going to post about the process. Keep up the good work!

The eggshells are good source of calcium and if you just have banana peels if you have bananas in stock you can use it too.
But all in all the egg shells are good and I'm looking forward to that one how you made it and the progress because I'm not sure with the vinegar.. Hoping it can go well.
Thank you.😊

Wow I don't that we can make fertilizer out of banana and eggs' shelves. That's a good idea @jhero22

Yes you can and there's a lot of things there like those wherein we can make organic fertilizers out of them.
You can try it foe your plants.😊

That is great to see you making your fertiliser, cheaper and probably better too!

Yeah best not to touch those caterpillars!

This is a good idea.. amazing

You can try it.😊

I've tried banana as an alternative fertilizer but for the egg shells its my first time to hear it. So I'm excited to try it next time..I hope iy will be effective fertilizer the same to you..

You can get calcium from it so I bet it's good. You can use it also to provide calcium in tomatoes to prevent the end rot in them.

Luhh, my husband harvested banana in our garden last Friday. I wasn't able to go with them because our neighbor leave their child to me. Sayang, Isang blog topic na sana yon.. hmmm gamitin ko din kaya yon like sa ginawa mo. After leaving it overnight @jhero22 itapon na sya? Or lagyan ulit Ng tubig stay it overnight at magamit ulit pandilig kinabukasan?

Ay hihi. What variety did you harvest ate jen? . Ofcourse you can po with the peels and that one like the one above. Diko kasi alam name haha.

You can use it over and over ate until the babana peels withered na then you can mix it in the soils on your plants na po.

We call it tondan Yung common sa market na masarap kainin hehehe... Try ko din cguro yon sa talong at sibuyas namin. Ang pechay di na tumubo, di na maarawan kasi lumaki na Ang talong

Maganda pandilig yan ate.

Okay we will try that again soon hehehe

Thanks for the opportunity also to @jasonmunapasee .

I have tried eggshells and banana peelings and parts during our school garden contest. ☺️
This is so good because the fruits are healthy and safe for the consumers. ☺️

Oh that's good to know po that even in school is nagagawa ito. So far I haven't learned it before and I just discovered it on youtube.
Tama kapo diyan.

Tama we practiced it in school. We even have garden contests using organic fertilizers. ☺️

It's really good and safe. Actually I'm using it all the way na but ngayon lang nablog haha.
You can save pa from buying expensive fertilizers in the market.

Tama lalo nat talagang lumubo ang presyo ng mga bilihin.

I know about egg shells and banana, I read also here at hive that it could be a good fertilizer.
Thus , Madre de cacao? I never knew.

And that mga insects? They are one I fear 😬
Thanks for sharing

It's a good source of nitrogen ate lhes which can be use also as organic fertilizer. Pandilig-dilig ganun, just pulverize the leaves by rubbing then ibabad sa tubig.
Katakot diba po hihi.
