I took a break from my weekly garden journal last week as I was away with my family following my partner on a business trip. It's still too cold for serious gardening, but today it's sunny and the temperature will go up to 14 degrees celsius 🥳 I will sow some salad seeds.
I've planted more and more of the bottom parts of spring onions I ate, so they can at least be a topping for my miso soup. I decided to have udon with my daughter for lunch today, but there are no spring onions in the fridge ... but here they are on the balcony!
I took pots of Japanese edible chrysanthemum and spinach to the balcony that I sprouted indoor. The chrysanthemum is for my miso soup. We eat the leaves in Japan.
The €1 violas I bought at the market the other day seem to be in a good mood and are flowering. I appreciate flowers more and more every year.
Talking about spring flowers, tulips I planted last autumn have started to sprout well here and there on the balcony. As usual, I have no memory or record of what I planted where, so I have to wait until they bloom. It's a surprise investment 😉
A couple of kiwi plants that we bought last year and intended to plant in the community garden but are still in our house due to vandalism have also started to sprout. I am thinking of bringing them to a friend's house who has a garden.
In side our home I grow micro greens. They don't grow well in the newly bought growing system and there may be some tricks to grow them well. I will investigate some more and reflect the result to a kit I will design this year.

先週はパートナーの出張に家族でついて出かけていたのでガーデンジャーナルをお休みしました。まだまだ本格的にガーデニングをするには寒い日が続きますが、今日は晴れて14度まで気温が上がります。
食べたネギの下の部分をどんどんプランターに植えていって、私の味噌汁のトッピングくらいにはなるようになりました。今日はお昼をうどんにしようと思ったらネギがない・・・そんな時にもばっちりです。
玄関で発芽させた春菊とほうれん草の芽が出たので、外に出しました。春菊は私のお味噌汁に使えるくらいの量を少数精鋭で育てようと思っています。
先日マーケットで買ってきた1鉢1ユーロのビオラも新しい環境になじんだようでご機嫌の様子で花を咲かせています。花があるといいですね。
春の花といえばチューリップで、去年の秋に植えたものがバルコニーのそこここで順調に芽を出し始めました。毎度のことながらどこに何を植えたか記憶も記録もなく、咲いてからのお楽しみです。
去年購入してコミュニティーガーデンに植えようと思ったものの、荒らし行為が続いてまだうちにいるキウイのカップルも芽吹き始めました。庭を持っているお友達のおうちに植えさせてもらおうかなと考えています。
家の中ではマイクログリーンを育てています。新しく買った栽培システムではうまく育たず、意外とコツがあるのかもしれません。このあたりきちんとまとめて、キット作りに生かしたいです。
