Station had some issues and did not store data. Hence, loss of previous log entries. Possible Reasons: power failure, storage error, magnetic interference.
Issues are fixed now. Data is being saved and stored correctly.
Resuming logging of my time on Europa.
For anybody getting this, and i know there's a few of us out there that would like to know that there are others hell bent on the IPCP, there's a working station on Europa, with power, fuel and minerals. Diggers and welders are at disposal for anyone willing to work.
Seeing an increase of pirates and raiders in the moon's orbit, and near the station.
Daily attacks by drone ships and small piloted attack fighters. Nothing that has posed a real threat to the station. However, the amount of wreckage around the station is starting to become a problem.
Station's built into the side of the mountain, in a deep ridge that spans several kilometers in length.
Remotely piloted drones and these piloted attack ships can only do so much, when coming in for an attack, as they usually crash when trying to come down the ridge.
Back to current affairs. I've been working on building a grinding pit to speed the disposal of these drones ships that crash land during their attack.
The salvaged materials from grinding them down is welcome. Most of them carry Uranium and ammunition. More importantly, they're starting to create a graveyard around my location on Europa, which turns the area into a beacon of interest, for other roaming ships.
RLS of the current grinding pit.
The problem with this grinder is the angle of the floor.
Wreckage won't slide down into the grinders, when dropped into the pit.
Possible solution: controlling the inclination of the floor, using a hinge, and turning the floor into a moveable platform, attached to the hinge, which i can angle if needed.
How much it can be angled is limited by the grinding pit's cover.
Due to Europa's low gravity, and the high rotating blades of the grinders, this grinding pit needs to be enclosed to stop smaller, detached pieces from the wreckages from flying off into the distance, when being ground up.
Removing the existing floor of the grinder pit.
Another day on Europa.
Working through the night. This pit needs to be finished at soon as possible. I need to keep my presence on the moon as undetectable as possible, what with the increase of pirates and other less honorable factions roaming the moon.
Spent some time tinkering with the hinge and moving platform, and figuring how to set this up, but i think i've got it figured.
The current angle of the platform allows pieces to roll down it, so it should allow sliding. If anything, i can increase the angle, now that the hinge is set up and platform is attached.
Morning already. Spent all night working on the hinged platform. Work must continue.
Repurposing the Buzzer from a grinder to a welder.
Constructing only half a platform, as it's for testing purposes first.
And welding work begins.
It's ready to have some wreckage dropped onto it.
Let's get the big guns. And start picking up some wreckage!
Wreckage seems to slide down the platform just fine at the lowest angle. I call it a success.
Dangerous, but necessary testing and analyzing the grinding process, from inside the grinder pit.
All works fine, with a ton of pieces being flung around the enclosure. Most of them end up getting grinded as they fly back onto the grinder blades, but a little manual cleaning up needs to be done.
Time to complete the platform.
And not a moment to soon. Other faction's ships have been being deployed closer and closer to the station.
Station's grinder status: functional.
Need sleep.
