Hello friends of Hive and this beautiful and prestigious community, it is a great pleasure for me to present the entry for the initiative of creative women this week, it is about making a proposal for centerpieces made with recycled material ♻️, preferably dedicated to Mother's Day which is about to be celebrated. I hope you like my creation and if you like you can recreate it.
Para este centro de mesa utilicé algunos materiales que ya tenía en casa dispuestos para utilizar en cualquier proyecto, la materia prima reciclada es un rollo de cartón en el que venía enrollado el hilo de crochet de algodón que utilicé para hacer unos manteles. Es un rollo bastante grueso y resistente. Ya lo tenía forrado con papel de regalo porque lo había usado para guardar algunos hilos de coser pequeños. Me pareció que era el momento ideal para darle un nuevo uso. Estos rollos los compré hace más o menos como 6 años y la verdad es que me han sido de mucha utilidad.
For this centerpiece I used some materials that I already had at home ready to use in any project, the recycled raw material is a roll of cardboard in which was wound the cotton crochet thread that I used to make some tablecloths. It is a pretty thick and resistant roll. I already had it lined with wrapping paper because I had used it to store some small sewing threads. I thought it was the perfect time to give it a new use. I bought these rolls about 6 years ago and the truth is that they have been very useful.
Materiales:
- Rollo de cartón.
- Foami liso y escarchado.
- Tijeras.
- Pegamento.
- Reglas.
- Lápiz de grafito.
- Silueta dibujada en papel blanco.
- Flores y corazones previamente elaborados.
- Anime.
Materials:
- Cardboard roll.
- Smooth and frosted Foami.
- Scissors.
- Glue.
- Rulers.
- Graphite pencil.
- Silhouette drawn on white paper.
- Flowers and hearts previously made.
- Anime.
Procedimiento/Procede:
- Empecé forrando el rollo de cartón. Para hacerlo elegí foami escarchado color plateado. Estoy aprovechando estos colores porque me encanta que brillen los centros de mesa, además los hace lucir muy elegantes. Coloqué pegamento sobre el rollo y pegué el foami hasta cubrirlo en su totalidad. En la parte de arriba y en la parte de abajo del rollo dejé unas pestañas del foami de 1cm aproximadamente para doblar y pegar.
- I started by lining the cardboard roll. To do this I chose silver colored frosted foami. I'm taking advantage of these colors because I love to make the centerpieces shine, plus it makes them look very elegant. I put glue on the roll and glued the foami until it was completely covered. On the top and bottom of the roll I left some tabs of the foami of about 1cm to fold and glue.
- Tomé un trozo de anime de 1cm de grosor, medí y corté un círculo proporcional al tamaño del orificio del rollo ya forrado. Este círculo de animé lo fijé con pegamento caliente en la parte de arriba, adentro del rollo. Previamente rellené el rollo con papel reciclado para dar soporte a esta tapa de anime.
- I took a piece of anime 1cm thick, measured and cut a circle proportional to the size of the hole in the roll already lined. This anime circle I fixed it with hot glue on the top, inside the roll. I previously filled the roll with recycled paper to support this anime cover.
- Con otro retazo de foami plateado dibujé y recorté dos círculos del tamaño del orificio del rollo. Un círculo lo pegué sobre la tapa de anime y el otro debajo del rollo para esconder las pestañas de foami pegadas anteriormente.
- With another piece of silver foami I drew and cut out two circles the size of the hole in the roll. One circle I glued over the anime cover and the other one under the roll to hide the previously glued foami tabs.
- Decidí colocar la silueta de una madre con su bebé como motivo a este centro de mesa. Primero dibujé la silueta dentro de un recuadro de 12cm × 10cm para tener una idea del tamaño deseado.
- I decided to place the silhouette of a mother and baby as a motif for this centerpiece. First I drew the silhouette inside a 12cm × 10cm box to get an idea of the desired size.
- Esta silueta la traspasé al foami, rayé la parte de atrás de la hoja donde dibujé la silueta, remarqué toda la silueta y así quedó marcada sobre el foami. Usé foami plateado para hacer la silueta. Luego la recorté y la pegué sobre foami negro, volví a recortar y la pegué sobre foami amarillo liso. Siempre dejando un pequeño borde en cada recorte.
- I transferred this silhouette to the foami, I scratched the back of the sheet where I drew the silhouette, I outlined the whole silhouette and so it was marked on the foami. I used silver foami to make the silhouette. Then I cut it out and glued it on black foami, cut it out again and glued it on plain yellow foami. Always leaving a small border on each cutout.
- Completado el paso anterior decidí montar esta silueta sobre dos palitos de altura, cada uno de ellos tiene como figura un corazón de foami. Estos corazones los elaboré hace un tiempo y estaban disponibles para usar. En mi blog puedes leer el paso a paso para realizarlos.
- After completing the previous step I decided to mount this silhouette on two tall sticks, each of them has a foami heart as a figure. I made these hearts some time ago and they were available to use. In my blog you can read the step by step to make them.
- También tenía unas flores elaboradas, estas las realicé en foami. Son flores muy lindas que estoy haciendo para decorar los obsequios de las madres en su día. Los tutoriales los puedes encontrar en mis publicaciones recientes. Coloqué en el centro del rollo los dos palitos de altura y la silueta, fijados con un punto de silicón. Seguidamente organicé las cinco flores y las pegué al frente del rollo o centro de mesa. Unas en frente de la silueta y las otras dos en frente pegadas en el rollo.
- I also had some elaborate flowers, these I made in foami. They are very pretty flowers that I am making to decorate gifts for mothers on their day. You can find the tutorials in my recent publications. I placed the two tall sticks and the silhouette in the center of the roll, fixed with a silicone dot. Next I arranged the five flowers and glued them to the front of the scroll or centerpiece. One in front of the silhouette and the other two in front of it, glued to the roll.
EL RESULTADO ME ENCANTÓ. Es un centro de mesa muy fuerte y resistente, llamativo y delicado. En la parte de atrás de la silueta quedó espacio disponible para colocar algunos dulces o más flores. Para mi gusto está bien así. ¿Qué les pareció?
I LOVED THE RESULT. It is a very strong and sturdy centerpiece, striking and delicate. On the back of the silhouette there was space available to place some candies or more flowers. For my taste it is fine as it is, what did you think?
