The Dakota was brought home so I could repair it. The clutch and pressure plate has been installed, but the transmission is so large it is difficult to remove and reinstall.
The shift lever has a simple roll pin pressed through it that allows the stick shift to select gears a when moved sideways. This roll pin was broken when it was being reinstalled, so the stick shift couldn't select gears ranges to the side.
She's out now, and ready for the next step:
This truck is important to move prepping supplies to the homestead. I have been moving supplies in my car, and it has worked well; but time becomes short, and I need larger loads!
I have owned this truck since 1989, so I trust it. This truck, combined with my 18 foot trailer; will get the move done quickly!
I am so glad to see this out and ready for repair! I do hate the 90 weight gear oil, but even that doesn't dampen my enthusiasm.
This looks good to me:
I have waited a year to get this home and torn down:
I will put it up in the bed of the truck for disassembly and rebuilding. Full truck function is important to progress on the homestead, so this is just the next step. It doesn't do any good to have all the prepping supplies if they are in the wrong place when the SHTF!
The question remains, can I relocate my prepping supplies to the homestead faster than the liberals can spend us into insolvency? The inflation rate last year was 27%, so they are working hard on destroying the dollar!
Stay safe, and keep on prepping!
