Greetings to lovers of handmade arts! Today I would like to join the Initiative:✨Art Therapy With Friends to share an application of art therapy in a segmented decorative painting.

Arte terapia

El arte terapia es una alternativa terapéutica que tenemos para relajarnos, distraernos y mejorar la salud emocional y mental.

Me gusta sentarme en mi taller y perderme entre línea, circulos y repeticiones de trazos para relajarme. Para esta oportunidad me gustaría aplicar el arte terapia a un cuadro decorativo segmentado y así decorar ese rincón de mi casa para darle un toque especial.

Art therapy

Art therapy is a therapeutic alternative we have to relax, distract ourselves and improve our emotional and mental health.

I like to sit in my studio and get lost in lines, circles and repetitions of strokes to relax. For this opportunity I would like to apply art therapy to a segmented decorative painting and decorate that corner of my house to give it a special touch.

Para este proyecto necesitaremos:

Un trozo de MDF
Caladora
Lija fina
Pinturas acrílicas
Pinceles
Marcadores punta gruesa
Correcto tipo bolígrafo
Sellador al agua

Golden lines

Decorative segmented picture

For this project we will need:

A piece of MDF
Jig saw
Fine sandpaper
Acrylic paints
Brushes
Thick tip markers
Correct pen type
Water-based sealer

Lo primero que hice fue cortar la madera en cuadros y rectángulos de diferentes tamaños.

The first thing I did was to cut the wood into squares and rectangles of different sizes.

Luego vamos a tomar la lija fina y a pasar por las esquinas, los bordes y por el lado frontal, que es donde haremos el diseño.

Vamos a pintar con acrílico de color blanco todos los cuadros.

Then we are going to take the fine sandpaper and go over the corners, the edges and the front side, which is where we will make the design.

We are going to paint with white acrylic paint all the squares.

Una vez que esté seco el fondo blanco vamos a pintar el cuadro. Seleccioné los colores naranja, negro y beige para que sean los tonos fuertes de mi cuadro.

Once the white background is dry we are going to paint the painting. I selected the colors orange, black and beige to be the strong tones of my painting.

Cuando el diseño del cuadro estaba listo, comencé a hacer mis líneas doradas sobre los trazos negros que di. También hice unas secuencias repetidas de hojas en negro, blanco y dorado.

When the design of the painting was ready, I started to make my gold lines over the black strokes I gave. I also did some repeated sequences of leaves in black, white and gold.

Cuando terminamos nuestro diseño vamos a dar una o 2 capas de sellador para proteger las piezas.

Para pagarlos en la pared, podemos utilizar cinta doble pega para que quede bien fijo y no se despegue con el peso de la MDF.

Esta es una forma muy entretenida de haver un cuadro decorativo aplicando arte terapia. Esto podríamos hacerlo con diferentes objetos.

When we finish our design we will give one or 2 coats of sealant to protect the pieces.

To pay them on the wall, we can use double-stick tape so that it is well fixed and does not peel off with the weight of the MDF.

This is a very entertaining way to make a decorative painting using art therapy. We could do this with different objects.
