Hello dear friends of Holozing, I hope you are well, I had almost two weeks without publishing anything regarding our beautiful creatures and healers, I was in other projects apart from some problems but with all the pleasure in the world I am returning to share something new. On this occasion I want to share with you a wooden carved necklace that I made from Noxic, who on another occasion I made in a drawing and also in a sculpture, now I share it through the fine art of wood carving and now it is part of a nice necklace, here I briefly show you step by step how I was able to make it, I hope you like it.
Hola queridos amigos de Holozing, espero que se encuentren muy bien, ya tenía casi dos semanas sin publicar algo referente a nuestras hermosas criaturas y sanadores, estuve en otros proyectos a parte de algunos problemas pero con todo el gusto del mundo estoy regresando para compartir algo nuevo. En esta oportunidad quiero compartir con ustedes un collar tallado en madera que hice de Noxic, a quien en otra oportunidad la hice en un dibujo y también en una escultura, ahora la comparto a través del fino arte del tallado en madera y ahora forma parte de un lindo collar, aquí les muestro brevemente paso a paso como pude realizarla, espero les guste.

I used a wooden square that measures 5 centimeters on each side and is 5 millimeters thick. I cut it like this to make it easier and not as big as it would be for a necklace. I drew the figure of Noxic which I would later shape with the knife. The type of wood used this time did not favor me much, because it was too hard and the tools are not suitable for cutting this type of wood, however I achieved good results.
Utilicé un cuadro de madera que mide 5 centímetros por cada uno de sus lados y que tiene 5 milímetros de grosor, lo corté así para hacerlo más fácil y no tan grande ya que sería para un collar. Dibujé la figura de Noxic la cual luego iría dando forma con la navaja. El tipo de madera utilizado esta vez no me favoreció mucho, porque era demasiado dura a parte de que las herramientas no están adecuadas para cortar este tipo de madera, sin embargo conseguí buenos resultados.

I sharpened the knife a little and began to cut the edges until I reached the outline of the drawing, this was where I discovered how hard it is to work with this wood, but little by little with patience I managed to give the first shapes which I focused on. the wings.
Saqué un poco de filo a la navaja y comencé a cortar los bordes hasta llegar al trazo del dibujo, aquí fue donde descubrí lo duro que es trabajar con esta madera, pero poco a poco con paciencia logre dar las primeras formas las cual las enfoqué en las alas.

In the same way I also molded the other end of the figure, while I was doing it the blade of the knife broke but fortunately I had some spare ones, I changed it and so I could continue carving the wood, so you can have an idea of how hard it was. What is this wood?
De la misma forma también fui moldeando el otro extremo de la figura, mientras lo hacía se me partió la hoja de la navaja pero afortunadamente tenía algunas de repuestos, la cambié y así pude seguir tallando la madera, para que tengan una idea de lo dura que es esta madera.

Next, with sandpaper, I gave all the edges of the figure a better shape by removing any impurities. Once the surface was clean, I began to shape the wings by making some very small cuts to give it a very beautiful finish. Finally, I sanded again this time with a finer sandpaper that is very useful for polishing the wood.
Seguidamente con una lija, todos los bordes de la figura les di una mejor forma quitando las impurezas. Al estar la superficie limpia comence a darle forma a las alas haciendo unos cortes muy pequeños y así darle un acabado que resultara muy bonito, finalmente volví a lijar esta vez con un papel de lija más fino muy útil para pulir la madera.

To finish this small sculpture carved in wood, I gave it a bath of protective varnish, then I gave it more sandpaper and applied a bath of varnish again, sometimes I repeat this step 3 times because I like the wood to be well polished and protected. , lastly I added the necklace and that's how it was finished.
Para finalizar esta pequeña escultura tallada en madera, le di un baño de barniz protector, luego le di más lija y volví a aplicar un baño de barniz, a veces repito este paso una 3 veces porque me gusta que la madera quede bien pulida y protegida, por último agregué el collar y así quedó finalizado.
What did you think of the result? I think I got what I expected, this was exactly how I imagined it, I am very happy that my skills with wood have improved significantly, considering that I started from scratch with zero experience, but it was like transferring my knowledge of illustration to wood and just let my hands do the rest. Qué les ha parecido el resultado? creo que conseguí lo que esperaba, justo así era como lo imaginaba, estoy muy contento de que mis habilidades con la madera hayan mejorado notablemente, considerando que comencé desde cero con nula experiencia, pero fue como trasladar mis conocimientos de la ilustración a la madera y solo dejar que mis manos hagan el resto.
