Hi Hivers,

It's with great pleasure that am welcoming everyone to my blog and I hope you're all doing well and having a great start of the weekend.

I will like to share with you some details about I help one of my customer to replace his worn-out brass stop cock and I will like you to stay tuned till the end.

It's been a long while since I last share any post regarding my professional job. It's maybe quite stressful to keep taking the pictures while working since I need to finish the work on time and at times, I can't even get the grip on my phone because my hands are sometimes messy. I read one of the @broncnutz post some months ago when he is trying to fixed up his water closet. He said and I quote " thank God am not a plumber". Lolz 😁😁.. Though he was able to got the water closet fixed after all and that's a relief as well. But I don't think he love plumbing job 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Though he may not be a plumber but should I call him a problem solver then.

Though the plumbing work can sometimes be messy and dirty. But I believe that every job has it's hard part.

Last year was tough one for but it really makes me stronger and I got to learn many things from it. My main job is plumbing work before I joined the hive blockchain and I take the hive blogging as my side hustle but not until things change later last year.

It's really tough for me to get a job not to talk of people calling for my service. But that's how the situation of my country. So I became a full time blogger because that's the only way I can safe myself and cater for my family and here I am.

I got a call from one of my customer some weeks ago that the water is not entering his apartment. When I got there, I tried to check everything that may be the cause and this leads me to the stop stock ( used for controlling of liquid) at the backyard.

I realized the stop stock have rusted from inside when I open it up. Though the water start coming out from his apartment but the stop stock can't be controlled any more. So that's the reason why I have to replace it with the PVC stop stock (plastic stop stock) since I have got this kind of issues with the brass stop stock many time without numbers.

I want to one of plumbing store where they are selling different kind of plumbing materials to get all the thing that I will be needed for the work. Though, we have different range of size of plumbing materials so the size of the one am working on is 3/4 pipe which means am getting the materials of exactly the same size.

Materials used

  • 3/4 PVC stop stock
  • 3/4 PVC Adapter
  • 3/4 PVC plain Socket
  • Teflon Tape
  • Gum

Tools used

  • Hammer
  • Chilsew
  • Pipe Cutter
  • Pipe Wrench

Procedure taken to replace the stop stock

I have to first break and open wide the wall with the use of hammer and chisel since that's what I got.

I closed the water to the whole apartment from the water tank to prevent wastage of water and to make my work easier as well. Because there are sometimes a situation where I can closed the water and I have to carry out my job.

I cut off the worn-out brass stop stock and I replaced it with the PVC stop stock. I opened the back the control to the water tank and water begin to flow again.

Then to perfect my work. I have to patch up the wall with the sand and cement that I have already mixed together with water to make my job neat. And that's how my job is done.

Though it been a while, but I am happy that I got to do my work perfectly fine.

I hope to keep sharing about my work but I hope that more people will call my service sooner 😁😁
