Hello everyone! I miss my garden in our hometown. I used to visit my front yard where my ornamental and flowering plants are located. I take a visit in my gardens everyday. Seeing them healthy and blooming makes my day! I scrolled down the photos which prompted me to take my drawing pencils and my sketchbook. I've chosen this lovely Peace Lily. I always love to see it bloom with its pure white petal.
I need the following materials:
• Pencil # 5B
• Pencil # 4B
• Carbon Pencil, soft
• Carbon Pencil, medium
• Eraser
• Pencil sharpener
• Tissue stick
• Sketchbook
I am not a seasoned painter guys, but I can draw a bit so I hope you will still like it!:)
Using my sketchbook, started with the stem.
Followed by the spath or bract. Actually, it's not the petal of peace lily flower but rather it holds the stem-like spadix where the flowers are located.
I used pencil #5B for the sketching.
I used Soft Charcoal pencil for the spadix. They're the petite multiple flowers of the peace Lily.
I have to turn it upside down for the edging to go with the stroke of making curves.
I guess it looks okay now...:)
I used the tissue stick to smoothen the carbon...
Then I sketched the leaves using #4B pencil and medium charcoal pencil to make it darker.
Making the extensions of a branch of another plant.
Sketching the other leaves beside the plant. It has red fruits like mini cherries but not edible to humans though the fowls and the birds feast on them!
On the other side is a snake plant. Well, snakes like to live their too. Lol! It's because it grows high and thick hence I plant it beside the fence for cover along with the peace Lily. The leaves could grow thicker then it blooms and stays for weeks. My neighbors would stop by and appreciate their beautiful flowers when they're in full bloom especially during months of May.
Finally, I used the soft charcoal pencil for the backdrop.
I'd like to put it in a frame and hung it beside my bedroom wall soon! I like to post more of the plants I have in my garden and this is just the beginning.
I hope you like it! Thank you for dropping by my page! Have a nice day everyone!
