Hello Hive community! Today I bring to you something beautiful and very special that I dedicated myself to make for a long time for an extremely special and important person in my life. He is my boyfriend, Anderson. He had his birthday a few days ago.... Honestly I didn't have enough money to buy something previously made, however I said why not make it with my own hands? I tell you that since I was little I have been very creative and I learned about crafts and painting, this is an art that is generally not very appreciated, however, in my opinion traditional artists maintain qualities that other artists have lost, we work with the heart and in each brushstroke we leave a piece of ourselves. So this time I got to work with recyclable materials that I had at home and could easily use.
Making this little box, my main thought from the beginning was, what will I put inside? And well.... See the decoration I added! A personalized painting with some beautiful miniature pennants, which were not planned from the beginning but everything came together to create something totally personalized and original.... I hope you like it!
Hola comunidad de Hive! Hoy traigo a ustedes algo hermoso y muy especial que me dediqué a hacer por mucho tiempo para una persona sumamente especial e importante en mi vida. Es mi novio, Anderson. Cumplió años hace unos días atrás... Sinceramente no tenía dinero suficiente para comprar algo previamente hecho, sin embargo dije ¿Porqué no hacerlo con mis propias manos? Les comento que desde pequeña he sido muy creativa y aprendí sobre manualidades y pintura, este es un arte que generalmente no es muy apreciado, sin embargo, a mi parecer los artistas tradicionales mantenemos cualidades que otros artistas han perdido, trabajamos con el corazón y en cada pincelada dejamos un pedazo de nosotros mismos. Por lo cual en esta oportunidad me puse manos a la obra con materiales reciclables que tenía en casa y podría utilizar fácilmente.
Haciendo esta pequeña cajita, mi principal pensamiento desde un principio era, ¿Que colocaré dentro? ¡Y bueno... Vean la decoración que agregué! Una pintura personalizada con unos hermosos banderines en miniatura, los cuales no estaban planificados desde un principio pero todo se fue dando para crear algo totalmente personalizado y original... ¡Espero les guste!
To begin, take the following materials:
- Black cardboard
- Ruler
- Liquid glue
- Pencil
- A wooden box (reference size)
- Scissors
Para iniciar, tome los siguientes materiales:
- Cartulina negra
- Regla
- Pegamento líquido
- Lapicero
- Una caja de madera (tamaño referencial)
- Tijera
I made a sketch drawing of what would be a cube, making use of the box I had previously and measuring 7 centimeters in length. With this purpose, to make a box for the gift.
Realicé un croquis dibujado de de lo que sería un cubo, haciendo uso de la caja que tenía previamente y midiendo unos laterales de 7 centímetros de longitud. Con este propósito, hacer una caja para el regalo.
Making use of the ruler, fold up the sides in order to have a perfect cut and fold to proceed to glue it later.
Haciendo uso de la regla doble hacia arriba los laterales para poder tener un corte y un doblés perfecto para proceder a pegarlo posteriormente.
After making straight cuts I started to make small cuts to make the details of the corner tabs that I would pay for. Besides bending them with the ruler to make them as straight as possible.
Luego de haber realizado cortes rectos comencé a hacer pequeño cortes para hacer los detalles de las pestañas de las esquinas que pagaría. Además de doblarlas con la regla para hacerlas lo más rectas posible.
After I had the box ready, I assembled it to see how it would look even without gluing it and trimming the last details. You know! It's like making a rough draft before making any mistakes.
Luego de tener la caja lista la armé para ver cómo quedaría aún sin pegarla y recortar los últimos detalles. ¡Ustedes saben! Es como hacer un borrador antes de cometer algún error.
When applying glue, I used small paper clips to hold the corners of the box to make it firm and not easy to peel off.
Al aplicar pegamento use unos clip pequeños para sostener las esquinas de la caja para lograr que quedase firme y no se despegara fácil.

To make the hand-painted illustration I made the sketch using a wood color with pink lead.
The skin area of the drawings was painted in a skin color using several layers of paint to give more thickness to the illustration.
Para realizar la ilustración pintada a mano realicé el boceto usando un color de madera con mina color rosa.
La zona de la piel de los dibujos la pinté de un color piel usando varias capas de pintura para darle más grosor a la ilustración.
I used various colors of paint to paint everything from the hair to the clothes of these drawings. The colors I used were:
- Black 🖤
- Brown 🤎
- Green 💚
- Yellow 💛
Using the brown tone with the watercolor technique I applied shading especially to the corners of the face and skin.
Use pintura de varios colores para pintar desde el cabello hasta las ropas de estos dibujos. Los colores que use fueron:
- Negro 🖤
- Marrón 🤎
- Verde 💚
- Amarillo 💛
Usando el tono marrón con la técnica del acuarela le apliqué sombreado especialmente a las esquinas del rostro y la piel.
When I finished the shading I proceeded to make some details with a fine black marker and with colors with wood lead I added more shadows to give more realism and painted the surrounding area with a dark blue starry sky.
Al terminar el sombreado procedí a hacer algunos detalles con marcador negro fino y con colores con mina de madera agregue más sombras para dar más realismo y pinté la zona del alrededor de un cielo azul oscuro estrellado.
