Es para mí un placer compartir con ustedes una pequeña restauración de un pequeño piloto de la 2da Guerra Mundial. Este pequeño juguete le pertenece a uno de mis primitos.
Mi esposa me dijo que mi primito vino llorando a la casa con su juguete roto, que se le había caído y su cabeza había salido rodando.
Le dijo a mi esposa que por favor se lo acomodara, el tiene un gran apego con este juguete porque se lo regaló su papá, quien se encuentra fuera del país. Por esa razón su tristeza era muy profunda.
Cuando llegué de mí trabajo mi esposa me contó lo sucedido, entonces tomé el pequeño soldado y me di cuenta que ya lo habían intentado reparar, pero colocándole peganloca, o pega instantánea.

It is my pleasure to share with you a small restoration of a little WW2 pilot. This little toy belongs to one of my little cousins.
My wife told me that my little cousin came crying to the house with his broken toy, that he had dropped it and his head had rolled off.
He told my wife to please fix it for him, he has a great attachment to this toy because it was given to him by his father, who is out of the country. For that reason his sadness was very deep.
When I came home from work my wife told me what had happened, so I took the little soldier and realized that they had already tried to repair it, but they had put glue on it, or instant glue.

Por esa razón al caerse, el soldadito de rompió. Así que debía buscar la forma de hacer un mejor trabajo para que no se rompiera con facilidad.
Lo llevé a la mesa de operación y busque dos alambres de cobre finos, los entorche y corte a la medida de un centímetro más o menos.
La idea era hacerle un soporte que se acoplada en el cuerpo y en la cabeza, en sí, sería una columna vertebral.
For that reason, when it fell, the little soldier broke. So I had to find a way to do a better job so it wouldn't break easily.
I took it to the operating table and looked for two thin copper wires, twisted them and cut them to the size of a centimeter or so.
The idea was to make a support that would be attached to the body and the head, in itself, it would be a spinal column.
Piloto en la mesa del quirófano
Con la ayuda del cautín y una pinza sujeté el albre y le apliqué calor, esto hará que se derrita el plástico y el alambre penetre el cuerno del muñeco y la cabeza.
With the help of the soldering iron and a clamp I held the wire and applied heat, this will melt the plastic and the wire will penetrate the doll's horn and head.
Interviniendo quirúrgicamente al piloto
Adicionalmente derretimos silicón y le colocamos en el cuello del muñeco para que se fusione con el alambre, hacemos un poco de presión y esperamos a que se seque.
Additionally, we melt silicone and place it on the neck of the doll so that it fuses with the wire, apply a little pressure and wait for it to dry.
La operación fue todo un éxito
Verán que su muñeco no se romperá más con esta restauración, la cabeza quedará fija.
Ahora nuestro piloto podrá volver a la batalla y mi primito jugará con el sin miedo a que se vuelva a romper.
You will see that your doll will no longer break with this restoration, the head will be fixed.
Now our pilot will be able to return to battle and my little cousin will be able to play with him without fear of breaking it again.
El piloto ya dado de alta
Todos nosotros tuvimos un juguete especial, ese con el que pasábamos largas horas jugando en imaginando tantas aventuras.
We all had a special toy, the one with which we spent long hours playing and imagining so many adventures.
El piloto puede seguir en la batalla
Cuando tomé estás fotografías me imaginé al soldado en el campo de batalla,en espera del batallón para seguir luchando.
Después jugar un momento con él llamé a mi primito que vive al lado de la casa de mis padres para entregarle su juguete.
Cuando lo vió restaurado se contentó mucho, empezó a hablarme de él, me dió las gracias y se lo llevo para jugar.
When I took these pictures I imagined the soldier on the battlefield, waiting for the battalion to continue fighting.
After playing with him for a while, I called my little cousin who lives next door to my parents' house to give him his toy.
When he saw it restored, he was very happy, started talking to me about it, thanked me and took it to play with it.
Mi primito recibeindo su juguete restaurado
Los niños aman y cuidan sus juguetes, cuando somos cuidadosos con ellos desde pequeños podemos crecer y aún conservarlos. Ustedes aún conservan algún juguete de la infancia?
Children love and take care of their toys, when we are careful with them from an early age we can grow up and still keep them. Do you still have any toys from your childhood?
