Shattered to pieces

So my other pumpkin followed the previous to the heaven of pumpkins.

I wanted to keep it simple and represent my sign in the Chinese zodiac, the dog. Although it seemed to have turned more like a fox.

Unfortunately I dropped it on the floor while testing it on, and it shattered to pieces. It must have been either because paper clay doesn't hold on well to the surface or it wasn't moist enough. Still I wanted to show how well it turned.

I even had a concept in mind, to photograph it in my cherry tree behind the house. They say ladies shouldn't climb trees, as "it's unladylike", but who cares anyway. Climbing trees only reminds me of the childhood. Me and my childhood friends used to go every summer when it was the season, gather cherries and make some money for sweets.

I was the best at climbing because I was skinny and could climb till the very top and gather every last cherry. And we were paid by bucket, and it was like a competition of who will be the first to fill them. No matter who won, we were buying sweets and sharing among everybody.

I probably wouldn't dare climb more than a quarter of what I used to, but I still like it, as climbing connects to our bodies. I like to be aware of how it reacts.

I'll commemorate my pumpkin's sacrifice and will do the concept some other time.
