How to replace the rear wheel of the scooter Ciak Master 200

in #hive-130560last year

Hi all, Hivers!
I know you are all well because I read you constantly on this spectacular blog!

Today I shared with you the assistance received from a friend who has some manual dexterity as well as a good mechanical education although he is self-taught.

We replaced the rear wheel of his scooter.

The scooter in question is an old Malaguti Ciak Master 200, which had major problems inherent in an annoying rear wheel play.
This play, resulted in some instability of the vehicle, especially when cornering.

Once he ascertained the defect through the discovery of the scooter's workshop manuals, he proceeded to purchase the new rim complete with tire.

Total expenditure 37 euros, a pittance!

Once the wheel arrived, we began the disassembly of the old one.

To gain access, it was necessary to remove, first the muffler, the arm to which the shock absorber is anchored, and the wheel is free.

Below are some photos

The 3 photos above show the disassembly of the arm which also required the use of a puller, otherwise it was impossible to disassemble without doing some damage.

In order to gain access to the arm, it was necessary to first disassemble the muffler and then the shock absorber, as can be seen in the photos above

After removing all the necessary mechanical parts, we proceeded with the disassembly of the wheel: in order to get it out , the rear drum brake was loosened completely.

Now we proceed to reassemble the wheel and all the various components disassembled earlier.

Test ride and everything works perfectly!

Let's keep the good work up!

All photos are from me and from my friend!

You make it look easy but I think maybe it is not that easy for someone who doesn't know how to do it; I suppose the right tools are required also. I think if I had a motorcycle, I'd leave the repairs to the experts, like you. Besides, I'd not want to break a fingernail.

Consider it a small tutorial to see what to do OR to check if the mechanical guy is doing something correctly and not taking too much time :D

I am glad you appreciated!

If I ever have to fix a wheel on a motorcycle, I'll know where to come. :)
