Hi everyone, long time no see. This has been the longest I've gone without posting on my Hive blog. This summer was completely overwhelming. My daughter started school yesterday, and now I have some free time to start blogging again.
I always see paper towel roll crafts on Pinterest, so I save the rolls when the paper towels run out. The rolls started to pile up, so I figured it was time to use them. I decorate the paper towel rolls with washi tape that I created with illustrations from my books. You can use any washi and gift tag that you like! Directions are below:
Materials:
- Paper towel roll
- White Paint
- Paint Brush
- Gift Tag (Hole punch optional)
- Washi Tape
- Scissors
- Twine/Ribbon
Step 1: Cut the paper towel roll a little bit bigger than the size you want.
Step 2: Fold both ends of the paper towel roll so that you have a neat and even crease. Repeat this on the other side.
It should look something like this ⬆️
Step 3: Unfold the ends.
Step 4: Paint the paper towel roll with white paint.
Step 5: Let the paint dry.
Step 6: Apply the washi tape evenly across the paper towel roll. Fold any extra tape over the edge of the roll to for a neat appearance.
Step 7: Insert gift. Fold edges along the creases you created in step two.
Step 8: Pull twine/ribbon across the top of the gift and down around the sides to the bottom.
Step 9: When both strings meet at the bottom, twist them around each other so that they come up perpendicular to the other lines across the roll.
Step 10: Tie a knot. Next tie a ribbon with the gift tag attached.
