This is my first time of trying this out. I have been busy making so many bead bags for my customer it was a whole lot of a busy week. When I was done with my busy schedule my sister mentioned what about making a cartoon bag.
I was like let's try it out and see the outcome. Never tried it before but it came out lovely.
MATERIALS
•Cartoon
•Ankara materials
•Blue ribbon
•Needle
•Black thread
•Top gum
•B6000
•Measuring tape
•Pencil
•Scissors
•Fabric stone
•Ruler
PROCEDURES
Step 1
I sourced my materials, I used an already used cartoon so no need of buying one. I bought a yard of ankara materials and other materials used.
Step 2
After having all my materials readily available I swing into action. Using my measuring tape to measure the size I will be using. Using my pencil I make a markings then cut using my scissors. I will be making a square shaped bag.
Step 3
After I have cut the required size and shape, I glue together using my top gum. I used the measurement of the cut cartoon to cut out my ankara materials gluing it to the cartoon with my top gum. Putting into consideration the sides, front, back and making sure the material is neatly adhered to the cartoon.
Step 4
Moving further I cut out my ribbon using a scissor to the required quantity needed. Using my top gum I neatly paste then on the cartoon using my top gum to form a line design.
Step 5
I pick out the side for the front for making my designs. I measure using my ruler for the space for the design. Inserting mark on position where the design will be made.
Using my fabric stone I form a love shape with them gluing them onto the bag with my B6000. I couldn't have another design come into my head just the letter love. Valentine is around the corner probably that's why.
Step 6
I proceed to the handle but firstly I measure and cut out the required measurement for the handle.
Step 7
I stich the handle into the bag using a needle and thread. Transforming the bag into this
I initially wanted the zig-zag design but it wasn't good enough so I had to remove them.
Step 8
I measure the inner bag using my measuring tape for the inner lining. Using my peplum material for the inner lining. I measure and cut out using my scissor.
Step 9
I secure my peplum material into place using my top gum neatly adhered to my cartoon bag.
Step 10
I wanted a little bit more of design. I cut out my ankara material to a shape of leaves using my top gum I secure into place at the top and bottom of the bag adding more design with my fabric stones.
Satisfied to an extent, I cut out the zig-zag initial made, using my ribbon to secure the edges.
I turn it into this, which is the finishing.
What are your thoughts about my bag? You can use this for grocery shopping and lots more.
Hope you enjoyed this piece. Have a lovely day.
