Hello community, family and ceramic lovers at HiveDiy greetings. Today I will show you a fascinating personal exhibition of glazed ceramic art in the Nexos Gallery of the Casa del Joven Creador in my city. If you are nearby, you will be able to appreciate about twenty works of Roberto Avila Hernandez its creator. join me in this wonderful tour 😉!
The exhibition room includes works of peasant, ladder, obese woman, dogs, guitar strings and bulls that beyond being representations of his abstract personal imaginary, are also present in his daily life in the form of landscapes and household furniture. The ceramics also acquire a perfect balance in terms of form and content.
It does not mean that the artist is a castrato in a literal way as the title expresses, but that he has lived like many of us, putting his finger to the sore spot and covering the wounds with a gauze soaked in alcohol. It would be good to remember that the castrato was the one who needed to put an end to something, whether it was his fertility, sexual desires and libido; or who hoped to keep intact his personal development in some parts of the body, such as the vocal cords.
There are also those who castrate and not in a practical way, but metaphorically.
Does this demiurge seek only the reinterpretation of reality and the emasculation of his personal ghosts? Does he also intend to create a beautiful and useful work?
In my opinion, all these decorative or table plates, vases, vases, sculptures and ornamental pieces, made up of dreamlike images and nightmares, bask in a plainspoken, plausible and easy to understand discourse, where in his creation he seeks and finds answers from the very moment he reinterprets his experiences.
The creator Roberto Avila observes and molds with his hands the reality he lives. He may not find all the replicas, but when he crumbles the clay or puts it to bake, he is giving free rein to his frustrations and anguish. This is how he makes this work beautiful and, at the same time, useful. Not only does it beautify the building it will inhabit, but it also adds a concept, a narratology that is well worth deciphering.
In this final part of the gallery, I show a small collection of glazed sculptures, photos that I appreciated taking because the lighting helped a lot, the artist in his final words expressed: There will always be something in its design, in its imagery that invites us to think, and when we think, we remember; and then we compare, and when we compare, we realize that reality is cruder than we thought, but perfectible.
