Evening all
It's been a couple of weeks since the last update due to life and the constant cleaning of the workshop I have been doing.
But now it's time for the weekly update on the Hive Woodpeckers
The workshop is mostly cleaned up, well as clean as it's going to get with me chopping wood for hours each day!
The soot marks are pretty much all gone, but after removing a portion of the ceiling I found a huge amount of the bloody stuff, so I've put the roof back and forgotten about it 😅
The Grand Re-opening
On to some exciting news though, Sunday 29th September is the re-opening of the Hive-Woodpeckers workshop which is gonna be great.
The kids have been quite excited and are raring to go. We will be going full Halloween decoration building over a couple of weeks.
If anyone has any easy and great ideas for them to make, let me know!
So far the plan is making some ghosts and tombstones for them to take home and use in their gardens and houses, it's gonna be amazing and so much fun. I secretly think I am more excited than they are 🤓
New updated buy list so far is as follows:
I am looking at buying a Japanese pullsaw for the more intricate cuts I plan to do at a later date, but for now it's a buy I don't need desperately so if I find a cheap one I'll jump on it then.
Newest additions to the workshop
I recently bought a Random Orbital Sander due to needing to sand a load of new wood that I managed to land on for cheaps.
I ran this for a whole 2 hours before it started smoking and died on me. 2 damn hours and it died, seriously poor quality. So off it went back to Amazon. I hadn't realised at the time, but it is the same brand as the Killer Belt Sander I bought recently!
Currently waiting on a Einhell Orbital Sander to arrive, once it does I'll let you know how it goes.
Other bits
If anyone has any funding ideas please let me know, we are really lacking equipment and materials now so any help you can provide I appreciate. Onwards and upwards to the full reopening and recommencement of the woodworking program.
A big thanks to @bitcoinman who's been a great help and also @stickupcurator, @brosonleo and @raymondspeaks for being awesome and helping support me through this project so far.
