Outdoor Games with Grandpa: How to Make Tic-Tac-Toe
In Estonia, where I live, we have four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. During three of these seasons, it's often unpleasant to be outside – cold and damp. But in summer, which lasts only three months, the weather is warm and pleasant, perfect for spending time outdoors. Our family takes full advantage of this time. Especially in mid-summer, when it never gets dark at night and we have white
nights, we love to spend time outside playing and having fun together.
To make our time even more enjoyable, we decided to create a fun and simple outdoor game that the whole family can play around the campfire. I’m sharing with you the instructions for this game – Tic-Tac-Toe, which will surely bring lots of joy and laughter.
You Will Need:
- 10 small stones
- A piece of board or a wooden bench that you can draw on
- Waterproof marker
- Spray paint: red and yellow
How to Make:
- Draw a Tic-Tac-Toe grid on the chosen board or bench with the waterproof marker.
- Paint five stones yellow and five stones red.
- Once the paint is dry, use the marker to turn the yellow stones into bees and the red stones into ladybugs. Feel free to be creative and choose your own characters.
- Instead of stones, you can also use bottle caps or any other suitable items. Look around for things that are lying unused or available in nature, like pinecones.
- You don’t have to use spray paint; you can come up with your own characters. Plain unpainted stones of different types work just as well – find two different kinds, five of each.
It’s as simple as that! This homemade game will surely bring lots of joy and great moments with your family.
