Hello, I hope everyone is feeling very well, this Sunday I want to share with you a painting, a miniature version of Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night, I made this version using a piece of wood as a canvas, this piece of wood still belonged to larger piece, which little by little I was cutting for other activities so I was left with a small square that measures just about 4 centimeters on each side. And before wasting it I thought a lot about what I could do with it, until it occurred to me to make a painting, it was quite a challenge because of the smallness of the canvas on the wood and the way the starry night is painted. Here in this short timelapse video, you can see how the process was, I hope you like it.
Hola espero que todos se encuentren muy bien, en este domingo quiero compartir con ustedes una pintura, una versión en miniatura de la noche estrellada de Vincent Van Gogh, he realizado esta verión utilizando como lienzo un trozo de madera, este trozo de madera pertenecía aun pedazo más grande, que poco a poco fui cortando para otras actividades así que me quedó un pequeño cuadro que mide apenas unos 4 centímetros por cada lado. Y antes de desperdiciarlo pensé mucho en qué podía hacer con él, hasta que se me ocurrió hacer una pintura, fue todo un desafío por lo pequeño del lienzo en la madera y por la forma en que la noche estrellada esta pintada. The painting measures 4.5 millimeters on all sides and 1 centimeter thick. I used soft sandpaper several times to polish the surface and then I put white paint to cure the surface and thus be able to paint in a better way.
El cuadro tiene unas medidas de 4,5 milímetros por todos sus lados y 1 centímetro de grosor. LE pasé varias veces una lija suave para pulir la superficie y después puse pintura blanca para curar la superficie y poder así pintar de una mejor forma.

I started by mixing the tones for the sky, which has a lot of difference in several layers, one darker while then when the clouds approach everything becomes a little lighter. This way I pass the pince only with the tip as if it were the pointillism technique. Something I did was not add water to the acrylic paint since I wanted the relief of the paint to be very marked.
Comencé haciendo la mezcla de los tonos para el cielo, el cual tiene mucha diferencia en varias capas, una más oscuras mientras que luego cuando se acercan las nubes todo se va aclarando un poco. Así voy pasando el pince solamente con la punta como si fuera la técnica del puntillismo. algo que hice fue no echarle agua a la pintura acrílica ya que quería que quedara el relieve de la pintura muy marcado.

In the same way I continue going down the canvas, passing the brush with small strokes, while I add lighter tones so that the clouds can be seen better. Up to this point I consider making the first stars, in the places where the sky looks darker I make a mix with green to achieve other different tones.
De esa misma forma sigo descendiendo por por el lienzo, pasando el pincel con pequeños trazos, mientras voy agregando tonos más claros para que puedan verse mejor las nubes. Hasta este punto considero ya hacer las primeras estrellas, en los lugares donde se ve más oscuro el cielo hago una mezcla con verde para alcanzar otros tonos diferentes.

As the painting went down, it became more difficult because some details were already appearing. For example, the shape of the clouds and then where the mountains begin, since there is no clear division between the blue of the mountains and the blue of the sky, the difference is minimal, so I add a little to the mountains. green, the challenge no longer seemed so easy to finish.
A medida que iba bajando la pintura se ponía más dificil porque ya algunos detalles iban apareciendo. Como por ejemplo la forma de las nubes y luego donde van comenzando las montañas, ya que no existe una división clara entre el azul de las montañas y el azul del cielo, la diferencia es mínima, por lo que a las montañas le agrego un poco de color verde, ya el desafío no parecía tan fácil de terminar.

To finish, I did what I consider to be the most difficult, starting with the tree, I understand that cold colors evoke feelings of sadness and loneliness, so I didn't put almost a warm color on the tree, somehow I wanted to put what I think about it. Van Gogh as a misunderstood and suffering artist. Next I did all the houses in the background, by far the most difficult, and thanks to the fact that I have a very fine brush I was able to do those small parts, without the essence of the original painting being deformed.
<Para finalizar hice la lo que considero fue lo más difícil, comenzando por el árbol, tengo entendido que los colores fríos evocan sentimientos de tristeza y soledad, así que al arbol no le puse casi color cálido, de alguna manera quise poner lo que opino de Van Gogh como artista incomprendido y sufriente. Seguidamente hice todas las casas al fondo, por lejos lo más difícil, y gracias a que tengo un pincel muy fino pude hacer esas pequeñas partes, sin que la esencia de la pintura original se deformara.
How did you like the result? You can see that with a piece of wood we can make something that we like, it can be a painting or also a drawing, something that catches our attention and has meaning for us. I chose this famous painting because it represents a lot to me, it is not the first time I have done something related to Van Gogh, before I made a lamp and also a drawing with colored pencils, now it was my turn to use acrylic paint. I really liked how the result turned out, although a challenge should not be underestimated, when I was doing those small details I almost regretted having started, but no matter what I continued until I finished. Que tal les ha parecido el resultado? pueden ver que con un trozo de madera se puede realizar algo que nos guste, puede ser una pintura o también un dibujo, algo que nos llame la atención y tenga significado para nosotros. Yo escogí esta famosa pintura porque representa mucho para mi, no es la primera vez que realizo algo relacionado con Van Gogh, ya antes hice una lámpara y también un dibujo con lápices de colores, ahora fue el turno pero de utilizar la pintura acrílica. Me gustó muchísimo como quedó el resultado, aunque no se debe subestimar un desafión, cuando estaba haciendo esos pequeños detalles casí me arrepentía de haber iniciado, pero sin importar nada continué hasta finalizar.
