And as part of that work of sharing what I like the most, I want to bring before you a painting that I did of one of my greatest musical idols, John Lennon, the British pop legend who, together with the band The Beatles, revolutionized music at a global level. worldwide, you cannot talk about rock without talking about the influence of the Liverpool 4. In my opinion, John Lennon was a brilliant musical genius, author of immortal hymns that today's artists dream of being able to match. Despite having more technological means, today's music is totally disposable, but anyone can change their life. and his mood just listening to some classic. I made this painting on a worthless Venezuelan bill using my acrylic paints, I explain the entire process step by step and a timelapse video so you can witness it, let's get started!
Hola queridos amigos, saludo a todas aquellas personas que se dedican a las labores artísticas, ya sean manuales o digitales, la verdad cuando lo pienso bien, Hive es un lugar hermoso gracias a todas sus obras, de manera que les digo que sigan adelante creando y brillando. Y como parte de esa labor de compartir lo que m{as me gusta, quiero traer ante ustedes una pintura que hice de uno de mis mayores {adolos musicales, John Lennon, la leyenda del pop británico que junto a la banda Los Beatles revolucionaron la mùsica a nivel mundial, no se puede hablar del rock sin hablar de la influencia de los 4 de Liverpool. A mi parecer John Lennon fue un genio brillante de la másica, autor de himnos inmortales que los artistas de la actualidad sueñan con poder igualar, a pesar de tener más medios tecnológicos, la música de hoy es totalmente desechable, pero cualquiera puede cambiar su vida y su estado de ánimo solo escuchando algún clásico. Hice esta pintura en un billete venezolano sin valor utilizando mis pinturas acrílicas, comento paso a paso todo el proceso y un video timelapse para que puedan ser testigos, comencemos!

I started by painting the figure on the bill with a layer of white paint, so that it works as a canvas and makes it easier to sketch the face. I used an easy to erase 2h pencil.
Comencé pintando la figura que trae el billete con una capa de pintura blanca, de manera que funcione como un lienzo y sea mas fácil hacer el boceto para el rostro. Utilicé un lápiz 2h fácil de borrar.

I had problems finding the skin tone on the face, my first attempts were unsuccessful but little by little I mixed the colors until I found the one that seemed best to me, so I started painting with a base and then giving volume to the face with the lines of expression.
Tuve problemas para dar con el tono de piel en el rostro, mis primeros intentos fueron infructuosos pero poco a poco fui mezclando los colores hasta encontrar el que me pareciera mejor, así fui pintando con una base y luego dando volumen al rostro con las líneas de expresión.

I also painted the eyes, which were a little difficult to do since their lenses made it impossible to see very well what way they were going, but with several attempts I managed to do them. Next I started painting the left part of the hair, here I used the thinnest brush I have.
Pinté también los ojos, que fueron un poco difíciles de hacer ya que sus lentes impedían ver muy bien de que forma iban, pero con varios intentos me las arreglé para poder hacerlos. Seguidamente comencé a pintar la parte izquierda del cabello, aquí utilicé el pincel más fino que tengo.

I spent a good while working on the hair, trying to give it a lot of realism, combining colors and especially trying to make the hair shine, I also started shading, part of what helps give realism to a portrait. Finally I painted the microphone and that's how it was finished.
En el cabello estuve un buen rato trabajando, tratando de darle bastante realismo, combinando colores y especialmente tratando de hacer el brillo del cabello, también comencé a sombrear, parte de lo que ayuda a darle realismo a un retrato. Por último pinté el micrófono y así quedó finalizado.

I made this portrait completely listening to the album Let it Be, the gem that was almost a farewell to the Beatles, in fact, this image is from the video of the same name where Paul sings. As I mentioned before, the Beatles were a before and after. unrepeatable musical phenomena only surpassed by the great Michael Jackson. I received musical influences thanks to my mother, who enjoyed their music a lot in her younger years, and instilled in me a taste for the British and other legendary groups. Qué les ha parecido? este retrato lo hice escuchando completamente el disco Let it Be, la joya que fue casi una despedida de los Beatles, de hecho, esta imagen es del video del mismo nombre donde canta Paul. Como mencioné antes, los Beatles fueron un antes y un después. unos fenómenos musicales irrepetibles solamente superados por el gran Michael Jackson. Recibí las influencias musicales gracias a mi madre, quien disfrutó mucho de su música en sus años de juventud, y sembró en mi ese gusto por los británicos y por otros grupos legendarios. Espero que les haya gustado, no olviden comentar que les ha parecido, y si eres fan de los Beatles dime que canción te gusta más, aunque para mi todas son geniales.
