Continuando con la creación de vasos para la casa, hoy quisiera mostrarles este con un diseño bastante particular.
Cuando hablaba con mi esposo sobre las ideas que podría plasmar en los próximos vasos, me dijo que sería genial que hiciera uno que trasmitiera algún mensaje.
Podría ser un mensaje de concientización sobre el daño que le estamos haciendo al ambiente con la basura que generamos a diario. Me gustó mucho la idea, así que comencé a investigar un poco en internet para hacerme una idea de cómo podría lucir y los elementos que podía pintar en él.
Uno de los animales más afectados por los desperdicios arrojados al mar son las tortugas, y podemos encontrarlas en muchas imágenes de internet en las cuales están comiendo algún tipo de plástico, o con alguna bolsa atorada en su cuerpo.
Este seria uno de los personajes principales de mi vaso, una tortuga con una bolsa de plástico atorada en su cuello. Adicional, quise hacer otro animal.
En mi búsqueda me encontré con muchas fotos de focas con trozos de redes en atorados en sus aletas o cuello.
Ese sería el segundo personaje del vaso, una foca con una red atorada en su cuello.
El concepto en general del vaso sería una escena marina, con los dos personajes nadando y uno que otro elemento contaminante flotando en el agua.
Pintar el vaso completamente azul no era la idea, pues quería que este "mar" fuera el líquido que se le agregara.
Pero para hacernos la idea de que están en el mar debíamos tener una superficie, así que pinté con azul la parte superior para crear ese límite entre el agua y el cielo.
Ahora voy a mostrarles paso a paso como fue el proceso para pintar este vaso.

Continuing with the creation of glasses for the house, today I would like to show you this one with a very particular design.
When I was talking to my husband about the ideas that I could put into the next glasses, he told me that it would be great if I made one that conveyed a message.
It could be an awareness message about the damage we are doing to the environment with the garbage we generate on a daily basis. I really liked the idea, so I started doing some research on the internet to get an idea of what it could look like and the elements I could paint on it.
One of the animals most affected by the waste thrown into the sea are the turtles, and we can find them in many internet images in which they are eating some type of plastic, or with a bag stuck in their body.
This would be one of the main characters in my glass, a turtle with a plastic bag stuck around his neck. Additionally, I wanted to make another animal.
In my search I found many photos of seals with pieces of nets stuck in their fins or necks.
That would be the second character on the glass, a seal with a net stuck around his neck.
The general concept of the glass would be a marine scene, with the two characters swimming and one or another polluting element floating in the water.
Painting the glass completely blue was not the idea, as I wanted this 'sea' to be the liquid added to it.
But to get the idea that they are in the sea we had to have a surface, so I painted the upper part blue to create that boundary between the water and the sky.
Now I am going to show you step by step how the process was to paint this glass.
La pintura que usé, como en los anteriores vasos, fue pintura al óleo. Esta es excelente para este tipo de manualidad porque aunque demora días en secar, al hacerlo se fija muy bien a la superficie de vidrio y resiste bastante.
Yo he estado usando durante varias semanas los anteriores vasos, que tienen detalles bien finos y nos he podido lavar tranquilamente sin arruinar el diseño.
Volviendo a este vaso, lo primero fue crear la tortuga, para ello comencé pintando con color piel la silueta de esta.
Al principio no me gustó la dirección en la que estaba, así que la borré con agua y jabón y volví a pintar en sentido contrario.
The paint I used, as in the previous glasses, was oil paint. This is excellent for this type of craft because although it takes days to dry, when it does, it sticks very well to the glass surface and is quite resistant.
I have been using the previous glasses for several weeks, which have very fine details and I have been able to wash them without ruining the design.
Returning to this glass, the first thing was to create the turtle, for this I began by painting its silhouette with skin color.
At first I didn't like the direction it was facing, so I erased it with soap and water and went back to painting in the opposite direction.
Sobre ese color piel, pinté con un poco de verde claro en ciertas zonas, también hice algunas sombras en un tono más oscuro para definir las partes de la tortuga.
On that skin color, I painted with a little light green in certain areas, I also made some shadows in a darker tone to define the parts of the turtle.
Con un verde más oscuro hice esa textura que tiene el caparazón y el cuerpo. Agregando en ciertas zonas, como el ojo y el rostro, un poco de negro para definir un poco más la expresión mal humorada característica de las tortugas (bueno, al menos las que tengo en casa siempre se ven así 😂)
With a darker green I made that texture that the shell and the body have. Adding in certain areas, such as the eye and the face, a bit of black to further define the grumpy expression characteristic of turtles (well, at least the ones I have at home always look like this 😂)
Así quedó la tortuga, ahora debemos agregarle un poco más de contaminación al vaso.

Jugando con el color azul y blanco, pinté en el cuello de la tortuga una bolsa de plástico como si estuviera siendo arrastrada mientras la tortuga nada por el agua.
Ahora agregaré el resto de elementos.
Playing with the color blue and white, I painted on the turtle's neck a plastic bag as if it was being dragged while the turtle swims through the water.

Debo confesar que esta parte no la documente tan detalladamente como con la tortuga, pues tenía las manos llenas de pintura (el óleo mancha mucho y no quería mi teléfono lleno de él) y me deje llevar también por la inspiración del momento, pero les cuento un poco:
La foca la pinte con tonos grises e hice con negro algunas sombras. Para la malla en su cuello usé verde, azul y un poco de negro para definir el patrón.
Esta tiene una expresión triste por estar atrapada.
En la base del vaso agregué algas marinas y varios objetos de plástico flotando como las anillas de las latas de plástico que tanto afectan a los animales marinos, una que otra bolsa de plástico, botellas y hasta un pequeño tapabocas, los cuales son desechados en cualquier lado sin tener conciencia.
Para la parte superior, como les comenté al principio, pinté el límite entre el agua y el cielo con un poco de azul y blanco.
Con una servilleta pase cuidadosamente por la parte inferior del agua para hacer un difuminado y que no se notaran las pinceladas.
I must confess that I didn't document this part in such detail as with the turtle, because my hands were full of paint (oil stains a lot and I didn't want my phone full of it) and I also got carried away by the inspiration of the moment, but I'll tell you a little:
I painted the seal with gray tones and made some shadows with black. For the mesh on her neck I used green, blue and a bit of black to define the pattern.
This one has a sad expression for being trapped.
At the base of the glass I added seaweed and various floating plastic objects such as the rings of plastic cans that affect marine animals so much, one or another plastic bag, bottles and even a small mask, which are discarded in any side unaware.
For the upper part, as I told you at the beginning, I painted the border between the water and the sky with a little blue and white.
With a napkin carefully pass through the lower part of the water to make a blur and that the brushstrokes will not be noticed.
Así quedo terminado mi vaso de concientización ambiental. La verdad adore cada parte de él y lo mejor es que ya está completamente seco y listo para usarse. ♥
