As some of you know, I really love to be creative and update different kind of things to the better. Give them an update, instead for buying new things all the time is a nice way to save the world too (or my part of it, haha). This time I wanted to give some of my vases a new look.
I read on a forum that If you put baking soda in the paint, you will get the
rustic look or make the vase look like its terracotta, so I wanted to try it out!
I didn't know how much baking soda I needed,
so I tried out with 1/4 part with baking soda and I think it was a little bit too much. Maybe a 1/5 or 1/6 is enough, depends on how rustic/thick you want it to look.
Just get prepered that the baking soda will get active while you are painting, in the same way if you are baking some bums or cake.
I recommend you to paint it twice just to get everything covered and it will look more similar like terracotta. Wait at least one hour before you paint the second time. Some vases need time to make the paint settle. The paint didn't dry fast on the inside of the vase, just because it was an another surface.
I also painted it inside of the vase, just to get the full look!
The result!
I actually love the new look of the vase. I didn't use it the way it was, but now I only need some nice straw and it's ready!
I have some other vases who need some paint too. I have a darker brown paint I'm going to use in my next vase project.
