Les voy a contar como mejoré la presencia de la mecedora de mi casa. En casa tenemos una mecedora muy vieja, es parte de la familia, es de esos objetos de la casa que en muchas ocasiones aparece en las fotos😁

I am going to tell you how I improved the presence of the rocking chair in my house. At home we have a very old rocking chair, it is part of the family, it is one of those household objects that often appears in photos😁.

Esta mecedora vino de un lugar que queda a unas 21 horas de viaje en auto hasta donde vivo, es de esos muebles que hacen de forma artesanal, de madera de Cují y de un tejido muy resistente, que puede durar muchísismosaños.

This rocking chair came from a place that is about 21 hours away by car from where I live. It is one of those pieces of furniture that are handcrafted, made of Cují wood and a very resistant fabric that can last for many years

Debo confesar que ha sido pintada en varias ocasiones. En una oportunidad me vio obligada a lijarla, yo soy sincera lucho mucho para que se me den los trabajos manuales, pero eso de lijar madera creo que es para personas con fuerza, ni con la lijadora pude aclararla completamente, y por eso la he pintada ya como tres veces con colores rojos oscuros.

I must confess that it has been painted several times. On one occasion I was forced to sand it, I am sincere, I struggle a lot to be given the manual labor, but I think that sanding wood is for people with strength, even with the sander I could not clear it completely, and so I have painted it three times with dark red colors.

La mecedora ha pasado por mucho, pero he procurado que se mantenga en pie, y había sido así hasta ahora, sobre todo con el tejido, sólo le limpiaba sin humedecer para que durase más tiempo, pero un buen día llegó un nuevo miembro a la familia.

The rocking chair has been through a lot, but I've tried to keep it upright, and it had been up until now, especially with the fabric, I just cleaned it without wetting it to make it last longer, but one fine day a new member arrived in the family.

Al ver la silla deteriorada y no conocer ninguna persona que pudiera reparar el tejido, el cual había querido terminar de quitar porque me parece que se ve muy mal la mecedora, tuve que decidir hacerle algo, cosa de que luciera mejor sin quitarle su tejido, y bien puse como siempre manos a la obra...

Seeing the chair deteriorated and not knowing anyone who could repair the fabric, which I had wanted to finish removing because I think the rocking chair looks very bad, I had to decide to do something to it, something that would look better without removing the fabric, and so I got down to work as always...

Busqué una tela que hiciera juego con el estilo de la silla y eso fue una lona estampada color hueso con letras negras, botones beige de tamaño mediano, tomé las medidas y a trabajar.

I looked for a fabric that would match the style of the chair and that was an off-white printed canvas with black lettering, medium sized beige buttons, took the measurements and went to work.

Corté tela, cosí, pequé botones e hice las tiras con sus ojales.

I cut fabric, sewed, sewed buttons and made the strips with their eyelets.

Y listo, vean los resultados, se que no es el mejor forro, pero fue la solución para que la vieja mecedora de cují, no luciera tan mal.

I know it's not the best lining, but it was the solution to make the old cuji rocking chair look not so bad.
