Flexing our Recycled Christmas Tree and Decors🎄💞✨

"Never worry about the size of your Christmas tree. In the eyes of children, they are all 30 feet tall." - Larry Wilde

A big HELLO to the beautiful people of the Hive! How are you today? I hope and pray that you are all safe and in good health😊. As promised last time in my blog, today is the day that I am going to show and share with you our class Christmas Tree and decors using recycled materials🤩.

The making of our Christmas tree took us three weeks to finish. However, my students and I were extremely happy to finally accomplished it yesterday (three days before our class Christmas Party). Everyone was amazed and rejoiced when we lit the Christmas lights at last (although we only had a two- meter long of series lights).

So, how did we do it? Well, simple and manageable😂. You just need a little bit of resourcefulness, a pinch of creativity, a scoop of patience, and a lot more time. I am pretty sure that what we did was just a piece of cake for you (comment "claim it!" if you got how it's done after reading this post😂). So, here it goes my friends...

1. THE PREPARATION OF MATERIALS

The first thing to do is prepare all you need:

Empty small bottles (a lot)
Scissors
Glue Gun
Glue Stick (Silicone stick)
Latex paint ( any color will do - leftover or you may buy a liter, your choice)
Papers (preferably Used)
Bamboo twigs/ small branch of a tree
Stones
Empty container (cut in half)
Used boxes/ cardboard

2.SET UP THE BAMBOO TWIG

The bamboo twig will serve as the tree to be filled with decorations. Use the empty container that was cut in half as its bottom and put stones inside it to hold the tree.

3.MAKE THE RECYCLED DECORATIONS

This part would be time-consuming, especially when you have a lot of empty bottles. I have posted already the step-by-step procedures on how to cut and make the decorations from my blog titled "The Magic of Recycling", please read it for preference. I don't want to repeat it here (As much as I love recycling, I DON'T recycle contents😂).

4.TIME TO PUT SOME PAINT

We used Latex paint because it's water-based and safe for my students. I was able to keep red and white leftovers. So, we decided to use it because we had no budget to purchase new colors. As always, used what's available in the table😅.

After painting the flower-designed decors, I mixed what was left of the white paint with red and made a pink -colores paint for the star-designed decors (Yes, you read it right! We had pink stars😂 and we loved it🤩🥰).

5.COVER UP THE BAMBOO TWIG

We managed to cover the bamboo twig from bottom to top with used paper. Cutting the paper into strips about 2 inches wide. We used glue to stick the paper altogether.

This was a little tiring but once done, oh, it's a relief. You can opt to do this first and paint the decors after, it's up to your convenience😊.

Tadaaah! And my students put some green tiny leaves out of used green plastic wrappers.

6. PUT THE RECYCLED CHRISTMAS DECORS

This one is the most exciting part. The students were excited about what our tree gonna look like😅. I had to do this part myself for safety purposes. The glue gun could become very hot and it uses electricity, not safe for the students.

My students also made tiny Christmas gifts from used cardboard and wrapped them with Christmas- decorated paper. We hung it on our Christmas tree😍.

We also made big Christmas gifts from old boxes to add a more classy look to our tree😅.

At last Hive friends, the finished product. Say hello to our Recycled Christmas Tree!🥰💞

And the most awaited part was turning on the lights and the picture-taking with the most helpful kids I know.🥰

See, simple and manageable, right? Do you know why I see this as simple and manageable? It is because I am NOT DOING IT ALONE. I am lucky and beyond grateful to have my grade 7 students. They have been very diligent and helpful kids since we started planning to make our tree for Christmas.

It is indeed simple but when I look at it, I see it as the most beautiful because it's the product of our hard work, teamwork, and creativity. Not only that, I feel fulfilled because I have also imparted to my students how to recycle what they considered before as waste and make it useful.

And most importantly, the memories that we made together, all the laughter and teases while making it were priceless. The bonding moments were worthless. So, when they would leave me(😥), I mean, when they proceed up to the next grade level 😂, this experience with them is something that I would reminisce about.

That's all for today Hive friends! What can you say about our recycled Christmas tree? Please feel free to comment below😅. I would be happy to read them and learn some suggestions if there are any.

Thank you so much and I hope you find this post worthy of a reblog. See you in my next post. Sending my best regards and my warm big hugs!🥰✨🤗

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!🎄🎆
