El próximo sábado será el cumpleaños de Mariana la hija de mi amiga María Isabel y, como regalo le elaboré un mantel individual con una linda tela de estampados de flores, ya me imagino usándolo en cualquiera de sus comidas; pero sobre todo para las meriendas y seguro que también invitará a merendar a sus amigas, muñecas y peluches.

Elaboration process / Proceso de elaboración:
🌸 First of all to start with the project, I ironed the fabrics and thus remove the wrinkles and in this way facilitate the lines and guarantee that they would look good, then I cut all the pieces taking into account the seam centimeter, 1 front of 45cm x 30cm in which I will place two pockets, 1 rectangular pocket of 10cm long x 6cm wide and another in the shape of a triangle of 14cm x 14cm x 20cm, they will also serve to give a special touch to the tablecloth, I cut them out in a different color so that they would contrast, another piece in blue for the back of the same size as the front, which will serve to cover all the seams and the work will look neater.
🌸Primero que todo para comenzar con el proyecto, planché las telas y así quitarle las arrugas y de esta manera facilitar los trazos y garantizar que quedaran bien, luego corté todas las piezas tomando en cuenta el centímetro de costura, 1 delantera de 45cm x 30cm en la cual colocaré dos bolsillos, 1 bolsillo rectangular de 10cm de largo x 6cm ancho y otro en forma de triángulo de 14cm x 14cm x 20cm, los mismos también servirán para darle un toque especial al mantel, los recorté de un color diferente para que hicieran contraste, otra pieza en azul para la parte posterior del mismo tamaño que la delantera, la cual servirá para tapar todas las costuras y el trabajo se vea más prolijo.
🌸 Now it's time to put a little love on the pockets, I confess that I was a little hesitant about the color I was going to use, first I thought of the same blue on the back but I think they wouldn't stand out much, then I remembered that it had a shabby fabric that could go well, it also had a yellow I think it was a very strong shade. To give the pockets a more special touch, I sewed white lace on the top edge. To sew them, I first faced the right side of the fabric with the lace and sewed with a number 4 straight seam. Something that I like to do before sewing the pockets is to iron all the edges, I think that this way I can sew them and they look better.
🌸 Ahora es momento de ponerle un poco de amor a los bolsillos, les confieso que estaba un poco indecisa con el color que iba a utilizar, primero pensé en el mismo azul de la parte posterior pero creo que no iban a resaltar mucho, entonces luego recordé que tenía una tela rasada que le podría ir bien, también tenía una amarilla pero creo que era de un tono muy fuerte. Para darle un toque más especial a los bolsillos les cosí en el borde superior un encaje blanco. Para coserlos primero enfrenté el derecho de la tela con el encaje y utilicé con una costura recta número 4. Algo que me gusta hacer antes de coser los bolsillos es plánchales todos los bordes, me parece que de esta manera los puedo coser y quedan mejor.
🌸 After decorating the pockets, I fixed them with pins to the flower fabric. To sew them, it should be done close to the edges of the pockets to avoid overlapping the fabric, since they would look poorly finished.
🌸 Luego de decorar los bolsillos los fijé con alfileres a la tela de flores, para coserlos se debe hacer cerca de los bordes de los mismos para evitar que nos sobre tela, ya que verían mal acabados.
🌸 Once the pockets are ready, we can proceed to join the front piece to the back, we sew the outline on the wrong side, I used the straight seam with stitch number 4 for the entire project, we must remember to leave a space without sewing to be able to turn the piece , we must also finish off the seams to ensure that they do not come undone.
🌸 Listo los bolsillos podemos proceder a unir la pieza delantera a la trasera, cosemos el contorno por el lado del revés, yo utilicé para todo el proyecto la costura recta con la puntada número 4, debemos recordar dejar un espacio sin coser para poder voltear la pieza, también debemos rematar las costuras para garantizar que no se descosa.
🌸 Now it's time to turn the tablecloth over, it made me laugh a lot because in the photo it looks like a little ghost 😊😊😊. Then we iron again since in the process of placing it straight it wrinkled a lot, we proceed to make a seam around the contour, which will also serve to close the part that we left without sewing to be able to turn it over. To finish, we cut all the threads that may have been traced there.
🌸 Ahora es momento de voltear el mantel, me dio mucha risa porque en la foto parece un fantasmita 😊😊😊. Luego volvemos a planchar ya que en el proceso de colocarlo derecho se arrugo mucho, procedemos a hacerle una costura por todo el contorno, la cual también servirá para cerrar la parte que dejamos sin coser para poder voltearlo. Para finalizar cortamos todos los hilos que hayan podido quedar calcando por allí.
