New OS and a safe-house for my back-up disc!

Dear Build-It friends

My laptop crashed, and fortunately, this aligned with a series of events which led to my experience with online work abd life HUGEly improving!

It is a powerful thing, living in Natural Law - things seem to unfold miraculously, and no 'problem' is really that: every challenge is simply a great good opportunity to make better or heal or up-level.

The computer being defunct is a perfect example of this; I had been planning-hoping-thinking about changing my Operating System, as the evil corporation OS was increasingly failing on me - probably because I've unconsented to every aspect of their system, and installed instead open source programmes...

Amazingly, I was creating a lovely secure box for my external drive the day before the crash: I did a final thorough back-up literally minutes before the laptop closed itself down definitively!

I might have avoided my move onto Linux Mint for longer, limping along with Windows and making my life unecessarily muddy, but this 'issue' arising pushed me to fix it all for good, whilst also stepping much more fully into harmonious relationship with my tech.

Sometimes correcting relationships like this can be too-steep a learning corve, but this time I was gifted immensely by my beautiful helpful man, who bought me the new internal hard disc I needed and did all tge rebooting required.

This freed me mentally to do all the reorganising of work, apps, files, etc for making the transition smoothly - my embarking on the reboot would've been affected by my tension and my presumption-of-impossible about such a big change!

I'm rejigging multiple aspects of how I share virtually in the world: technology has been introduced in such a way as to make our lives more clunky and complicated, and how we step out if this foggy, heavy world might depend very much on who owns our programmes and how our rights and Right can be meddled with.

My mind and my relationship-with:my-audience feel much clearer right now, knowing that microsoft is not trawling and harvesting my data...

All good things to you in your building and fixing!

Let's identify all the waste within our supply chains🔁👀

Yes! To either not cause the waste in the first place! All 'waste' is something not fitting in its right place in the natural cycle - which it is up to us to correct. 🙏

Sounds like divine timing to me.
It's a reminder to change my device's OS myself, soonish.
It seems like I will be using my dad's ( Windows ) laptop from now on, on it, right now, and although I have been a Windows person all my life ( starting with Windows 3.1 in the early 90s ), I very much like a change and now seems like the perfect time.

Also, I kind of like the cleanliness and overall healthy feel of my Raspberry Pi OS.

xx

YES! I am soooo glad that someone else did this learning curve for me, @vincentnijman - there are too many challenges for me right now, and this was beyond my limited focus! The new OS from Linux is wonderful, and has such a different feel to anything by microsoft, with its perpetual threatening lurkingness! All good things to you, and many thanks for your good comments today 😊

Can't wait to start to actually use it. First I need an external harddisk to back things up though, especially the files that belonged to my dad and are worth saving.

All good things to you, and many thanks for your good comments today 😊

You're welcome. Seems like I rediscovered my flow, after a couple of days of much needed isolation / alone time

xx

Yes, there's a lovely centred vitality coming from your sharings 🌞💗🔥

Nice to hear that you're picking up on that vibe :<)
