Did someone say finish?!

After completing this project, I knew the reason why fashion designers and crocheters have so many unfinished product piled up somewhere in their work space. Starting a project is one thing and finishing up is another thing.

On Monday, I shared this post with you all, showing my progress on this heart cut out top and I also stated what parts were remaining. I honestly housed the thought of keeping it as a vest; if it was mine, I probably would have.

After much lollygagging and procrastinating, I finally finished the top. Lectures have been really tiring these days and combining crocheting and lectures can be a really tough thing to do. Nevertheless, I'm still persistent:).

There were two major parts that held this top from the final result; the sleeves and the neckline. Like I mentioned in the previous post, my sister gave specifications and I worked with those specifications. She wanted short sleeves and that is what I made for her.

For the sleeves, I alternated single crochet stitches and half double crochet stitches. I continued alternating for eight rows. By the end of the eight row, I chained two and started making the ribbing stitch. For the ribbing effect, I made two rows of front post and back post stitches. Over the months, I've grown to like this stitch very much.

The neckline was really wide and without form. In the past, I've had issues with necklines. By issues, I mean–I have made necklines that couldn't even fit through my head. It can be devastating to have to loosen a part of a clothe just because of the neckline. However, I was really careful this time.

Front View

I went round the neckline with single crochet stitches first. At the end, I did a slip stitch to secure and after that, I started making the rows of ribbing stitches. During this process, I couldn't help but wonder how a turtleneck top would look if I used this ribbing stitch to make the neck part.

Back View

With that, I came to the end of my heart cut out top. I stitched in all my loose ends using a darning needle and heaved a sigh of relief. I haven't shown the design to my sister yet and I'm really eager to do so. I wonder what her reaction would be. In the end, I hope she likes it.

How about you? What do you think of the end product? Was it what your expected or it's below your expectations?

Until next time, remain creative

You have done well. Kudos.

I tell you that I have not picked my crotchet pin for months. I have so many project to finish. Handwork is quite hard but with consistency and practice you will get it right.

Love this. A bright color and a dark one.

Thank you dearie for stopping by...😇 And I hope you pick up the pin soon enough.

Well done @wongi 👏👏👏

I hear you on the finishing of projects, especially when it is mine. But, when I finally do, it’s a great relief and delight as well because it turns out gorgeous.

Why do I abandon a mission or procrastinate? It’s because I hit a headlock (I dislike headlocks) which only comes about when challenging myself and challenging myself breeds something great.
There is always a compliment afterwards and that is after I let it rest to go at it In the right frame of mind.

Lovely multicolour sweater-like top🤩. It will sure feel cosy and your sister will love it🤞🏽💕🤗

I doubt any sane person would like headlocks😅. Thank you so much for the appreciation 🥰

The pleasure is mine

I adore this beautiful garment, dearest @wongi !! Especially the sleeves, as this is near a shape that I am drawn to creating in my own designs. The colour, stitching and form are gorgeous, truly... I hope your sister loves it! Happy stitching to you!

Thank you so much @kattycrochet. I'm glad you like it😇

This look amazing. I love it

Thank you.

What if her head becomes bigger or something 😂😂😂
I doubt it's your fault about the neckline... Prolly just a head growth spurt.

This is impressive as hell @wongi

I'm not surprised. My head is one of a kind; I mean that in a good way😅

Eitherway, I created a little allowance so even if she grows overnight, it would still fit her.

This is impressive as hell
