Finally, I finished one of my most difficult projects that lasted more than a year. This is my old red skirt. If only I could have imagined how difficult this would be for me. I would never take this on.
Let me remind you where it all started. Here is my skirt that I bought in a second-hand store more than 15 years ago. I already wrote about this but it was a very long time ago.

This is a simply stunning skirt made of soft natural fabric with a thin lining also made of natural fabric. The skirt is very comfortable, nice, but due to the fact that I wore it very often, the color of the fabric faded in the sun and it looked bad.
I understood that the time had come to say goodbye to this, but I was very sorry to throw it away. And then I noticed that the reverse side is bright.

I came up with the idea of switching sides. To do this, I just had to (I thought it was easy) open the seams and sew them in the opposite direction. Ha ha

This is what it looked like from the inside out. And below is how it turned out from the front side.

As you can see in the photo, the skirt was originally sewn very high quality, so it took a lot of time to open the seams. Then it was necessary to put everything back together again. The model of this skirt, as you can see, also consists of many details including a zipper and lining.
Yes, of course, the idea itself is good because the skirt looks great from the inside out.

But I simply overestimated my strength as a seamstress. I had small short pieces of red thread all over my apartment. When I opened the seams, I didn’t have the patience to sew numerous skirt parts over and over again, first by hand, and then on a sewing machine. I abandoned it for several months, then took it out again and then abandoned it again. and this went on for more than a year. Finally I plucked up the courage to take it out again. And now my torment with the skirt is over. I can not believe this!!!!!

If you are wondering why I continued to work on this project with such agony, then I will explain to you. The thing is that I felt sorry for the time I had already wasted when I had previously worked with this skirt. If I threw it away, it would mean that I wasted my time earlier. And that would be a shame! This was my motivation to continue working. Anyway, I did it!!! And my favorite skirt got a second life.

Greetings @tali72, a long way to finish your project, it looked great; repairs and remodels in clothing take time and regularly it is not as easy as we imagine, it has happened to me several times and I have had to postpone and retake until finished.

thank you very much my dear! I think this is due to my inexperience in sewing. you calmed me down. If everything works out for you, it means I can do it too if I don’t give up

I think it is a very ingenious idea, the skirt was very nice. greetings

I'm very glad you liked it. Thank you!

It would have been a shame to waste so much time, as well as to lose that natural fabric, so soft and beautiful, after so much time with you, thank goodness you were able to finish it and give it a second chance.

you are right my dear! There are clothes that are difficult to replace with something of equal value. These are top quality clothes. it is sewn in such a way that in the modern world this level of tailoring is extremely rare. Thank you!
