Here is an African print flower patch on a boubou dress
A boubou dress is really very comfy, if you’ve ever worn one🥰
Boubous are free flowing gowns which can be so simple to wear at home or elegant to wear to church, weddings or that special occasion.
They look good on every body shape from the very slim to the plus size woman.
You don’t need too much just
-Your desired fabric and any thing you wish to embellish it with. For me, I cut out some flowers design from an Ankara fabric
And different colors of rhinestone diamonds to make it more colorful
Step 1: cut the dress
This elegant style, usually employs a piece of fabric 58 inches long( average height) and reaches to the ankles.
The boubou is made by folding the fabric in half, fashioning a neck opening, and sewing the sides straight down to form a flowing sleeves (for me, I chose a fit elastic sleeve).
Step 2: sewing the dress
The first thing is to join the shoulder then turn the neckline and finishing up with an hemming gum
After which I decided to add the Ankara patches using a fabric glue
Step 3: designing with rhinestones
I decided to add rhinestones in different colors for the bling
Just after that I went back to the finishing process by joining the side seam and fixing an elastic band
