Hi, needleworkers! I’m making effort to be more consistent these days, so I’m here with another What did I Crochet post. 🤗This time I made earrings.
I actually did this project in April. I just haven’t posted it here. I was going for a conference and I wanted to do a crochet sale with the earrings, water bottle holders I recently posted, and mini pouches. I’d do a post sometime later about my mini pouches but for now, let’s talk earrings alone.
The wonderful thing about making these earrings is that they are not big projects so you would most probably not need to buy yarn because most crocheters usually have scraps of yarn left over from other projects. I had craps of so many colours so I worked with those.
First of all, guys, I needed hooks and jump rings for the earrings. They were going to be dangly earrings. I didn’t know where to get them after checking the market closest to me and not finding them. I had to ask a friend who frequents a big market here in Port Harcourt — the city where I live currently — to get them for me. It was so cheap. I had what would last me ages and tons of orders after the earring sale, especially the fish hooks. Finally, I could get to work.
This is the first earring design I made. I had to watch a YouTube video on how to make hearts. I made two pairs, one in pink and the other in yellow. They were going to be my least expensive set.
I proceeded to do another with two hearts connected by a jump hook. I made two pairs, one with pink and blue and the other with yellow and blue. Also, I did not link the two hearts straight but made them a bit lopsided.
Next, I made three-tiered single-coloured-flower earrings. The flowers had five petals and were really small. I used cream, salmon, and nude flowers to make one pair, cream, light pink, and a brighter pink to make another pair, before I began with the chocolate designs.
The chocolate designs were three. Two were 3-tiered and one was 2-tiered. There was a flower design with three tiers: a cream flower, light brown flower, and a darker brown colour. There was another flower design with two tiers: a light brown flower and a darker brown flower. The last chocolate design was 3-tiered but wasn’t a flower design, just small circles in cream, light brown, and a darker brown. I used a slightly smaller hook size than I used for the others.
The next earrings I made were like the last chocolate one, but in two tiers. Also, I used a bigger hook size than I used for that one. I made three: one with a cream circle and a a light blue circle; another one with a cream circle and a red circle; and the third with a cream circle and a purple circle.
The second to the last earring design I made was 2-tiered with circles as well. However, I made the circle below slightly bigger than the one above. One had a white circle on top and a black circle below, while the other had a light pink circle on top and a brighter pink circle below. The difference in size between the white and black circle was actually bigger than that of the light pink and brighter pink circle though.
The last two designs I made were a daisy and a sunflower. They were bigger than the others, but not longer. They looked entirely different from the others with their size and their colours (2 colours for each flower).
I made sixteen earrings altogether. 😉I ended up taking the single yellow heart earring for myself because it was a perfect fit for my outfit on one of the conference days.
The girlies loved the earrings and swept them up. I was sold out.
Here are pictures of two pretty girls flaunting their purchases. They bought 2 each, by the way.
I’d love to know which design you love best so do well to drop your thought in the comment section.
