Here we are in the third year of our beloved annual Needlework Your Barbie contest and we have once again been blown away!
This year we had a total of 19 entries! That’s a bit less than we had last year but we are grateful to each and everyone of you that joined in on the fun. 😃
We hope that with the announcement of this contest officially being annual that more and more will prepare and join in for the following years.
For this round we had a very special judge come onboard with us. She was one of last year’s contest winners. When I found out she wouldn’t be able to participate this year I immediately thought to invite her on as a judge with Katty and I. She quickly and gladly accepted 🤗. It was a pleasure deliberating with you @suezoe and we are so happy you were able to get involved and help in this way. As an extended thank you, you have been added on as a beneficiary of this post. 😘
As with every year it was a very tough competition. There were several creative entries that really got our attention.

Needlework Your Barbie Contest! 💅 BARBIE STYLIST.
What’s not to love about @creacioneslelys’ tiny accessories? The details in each piece are incredibly impressive. Along with those pieces she set up a lovely stage to showcase them. It seems as if her Barbie was really in a salon.
The cape and hairdresser coat were well executed and looked great on her Barbie. We also loved her approach on teaching about the profession throughout the post, helping us to appreciate what hairdressers do.
Rewarded 9.35 Hive & 3.89 HBD

NeedleWorkMonday|| Barbie: Environmental Volunteering 🌱🐞Voluntariado Ambiental
We all loved the concept of her Barbie’s profession and how she explained the idea of this environmental girl. It was a very interesting and enjoyable read. Carolina’s focus was not on a spectacular outfit she could create but more so on outlining the care of our planet. She did this cleverly with the amazing photos she shared showing Barbie enjoying and taking care of our earth.
The multiple casual outfits she created were beautiful and appropriate for this profession. We loved the creative positions she placed Barbie in as she relaxed in those gorgeous surroundings. The scenery makes me want to take a vacay 😁.
Rewarded 14.02 Hive & 5.84 HBD
3rd Place
Un atuendo especial para una Chica Animalista
The concept of a girl who defends animals is really unique. @Irenenavarroart managed to make each piece of her doll’s garment in the shape of a bear with labored details. The tiny sweater she made with those tiny needles is just stunning. @Suezoe mentioned she would love the same outfit in her size but with cats. 😆
Each piece in the ensemble fit her doll so well. The time and care she takes into making these pieces really speaks well of her work skills. The profession of her doll is also inspiring for those animal lovers out there.
Rewarded 18.70 Hive & 7.79 HBD
2nd Place
NEEDLEWORK YOUR BARBIE CAREER CONTEST!
We unanimously chose @jonalyn2020’s entry for second place right off the bat. We fell in love with the colorful details shown throughout her entire presentation. We were blown away at the fact that she made undergarments for her doll which is something we overlook when only thinking about the outer wardrobe. The tiny attractive details of the tulips on her skirt wowed each of us.
Not only were the pieces of her garment amazing she also creative a realistic scenery for her florists doll to do her work. The tiny desk, hangers and supplies used to make her flowers were all very outstanding. She put a lot of love into this project and made something that represents herself.
Rewarded 23.38 Hive & 9.74 HBD

Needlework Your Barbie Contest! // Barbie In my style [esp/eng]
This was the other entry that we chose unanimously. Not only did @marlynmont embrace us with three original designs but she presented us with a magnificent handmade salon that showcased each of her doll’s professions. The jean outfit along with the rock outfit with mesh stockings were our favorites. From the hairstyles down to the shoes she really mapped out her entry and went above and beyond what was expected. We appreciated the details of the small accessories that were created to help bring this scene to life.
It was a joy to read about her childhood and learn where her inspirations come from. I love how she paid a tribute to her mother and the sacrifices she made. Then to tie it all in was the fact that she did this activity with her daughter as she relived some of those childhood experiences. It was fun seeing her dolls act out their roles together within the beauty parlor. The whole experience was astounding!
Rewarded 28.05 Hive & 11.69 HBD
Congratulations to All the Winners!
We also chose 2 entries whom we felt did a superb job and deserves recognition. They will each receive 3 Hi as a bonus reward!
NEEDLE WORK MONDAY- Esta barbie es una guerrera y está lista para la batalla [ES/EN].
We liked that @youyowi did something different and that the accessories she created complimented the warrior costume. She spent a lot of time working on the details of the accessories. The jean pleated skirt with the gold symbols, the painted shield and boots were a delight to see. It was nice reading about where her motivations came from as well.
[ENG-SPA] Needlework Your Barbie Contest: Barbie is Rural Engineer (Part 2)
This was another entry where the participant chose her own profession as the career for her Barbie. This rural engineer Barbie had an outfit made of fabrics and crochet. @Ivycrafts even painted her doll’s shoes to go with the theme of her occupation. This was fun to view and read.
Thank you for stopping by to view the contest winners which serves as our featured posts for this week.
