Focus Your Needlework - Week 3 Winners Announced! - Featured Posts #216

Focus.png

Welcome to Week 3 winners announcement for our Focus Your Needlework Challenge! This was our Final Round.

We are challenging our members to better focus their needlework by enhancing the photography of their projects and being creative in how they display them.

Each week during the challenge our team will choose the top submissions we feel put in the best effort on their project photography. We will announce each set of winners every Monday for the duration of the challenge. This is the last winner’s announcement.

Last week we had 15 entries again!! There were many beautiful photos submitted and I can’t wait to share them here with you.

We’d have to say this challenge was truly a success as we seen so much improvement over the three weeks. The best part of it is that everyone who tried had fun doing so (even with a few difficulties that were faced).

We want to thank Everyone for their participation!! Congratulations on upgrading your photo quality and making your blog posts even more amazing. We’d also like to thank all of you who came by to support each entrant and give them words of praise and encouragement for their efforts. 😊😉

Now it’s time to announce the wonderful entries we chose from last week to highlight. We felt they each stood out or went beyond in their efforts.

(very) Slow Fashion

by @kesityu.fashion

@Kesityu.fashion made great use of the new area she was in as well as the perfect lighting. I love that she focused in on the smaller details of her sewing tools. She made each element important by featuring them so well.

I’ve enjoyed her closeups because they are clear and vibrant. She gives us the opportunity to experience the fabrics she works with as if we were there feeling them ourselves. I love the use of the fence and the gorgeous nature background in her photos this week.

Keep up the great work! You’re doing an amazing job and your blog posts are very intriguing and inspiring ~ 💓

Focus Challenge A dress-shirt and bordered underskirt

by @clareartista

The recycling of fabrics used in @clareartista’s projects are pretty amazing to see. I love how she always repurposes her belongings. Once again she intrigued us with the beautiful outside images she snapped of her finished product. The lighting played well in her favor.

The closeup detail shots gave us a real feel for the textures in her garments. I really love that belt, it looks to be a perfect fit. Towards the end of her post she positioned the outfit in a clever way that I must commend her for. This post was exciting and kept me engaged the entire time.

Very nice work! Your improvements in your photography skills are very evident. Keep up this great effort ~ 😉

FOCUS YOUR NEEDLEWORK CHALLENGE || DESIGNING CROCHET ITEMS WITH TULIP STITCHES

by @jonalyn2020

You know when your needlework skills are good if you have people wanting to buy your work before you even finish it 😄. Way to go Jonalyn. I was totally geeked by her story of selling her water bottle cover to a store owner who watched her crochet it. The photo she took of the pink set which included a cell phone pouch looks incredible. That color combo is 5 stars!

IMG_7960.jpeg

IMG_7958.jpeg

You have to appreciate the photos of the tools used along with the process photos she included. This final photo of all three pouches look really great lined up along that soft pretty background. ☺️

Focus Challenge📸/ Reciclar, Reutilizar, Reducir y Crear.(Esp-Eng).

by @anamariag

Recycle, Reuse, Reduce and Create…I love how @anamariag put this. She upcycled an old pair jeans to create this really cute bag. The photo she took showing the different process stages is really nice. The lighting and color tone of the photos is unique and gave it an antique feel.

The finished piece was highlighted and displayed by her holding it, wearing it and placing it in front of nature. We believe she showed a good effort in showcasing this bag. ✅

A Wrap dress and ruffle sleeve for my #FocusYourneedlework challenge.

by @amiegeoffrey

Congratulations to @amiegeoffrey for joining her first NeedleWorkMonday challenge 👏🏽. I’m really glad she did because this wrap dress was beautifully displayed on her mannequin.

IMG_7963.jpeg

IMG_7964.jpeg

The bright colors and African print fabric were highlighted in a gorgeous lighting allowing us to enjoy all the details. I am in love with those puff sleeves and the shine therein. I think we will be seeing more improvements from her as she is wanting to continue this journey…

This challenge has made me realize that not only sewing is needed to make a good job but to upgrade my photography skill.
@amiegeoffrey

Focus challenge: Remaining calm in the face of pending issues (Eng-Esp)

by @purpleglitter

This was a good read about managing and planning our project tasks. @Purpleglitter talks about the importance of having patience, flexibility, a time to have fun and a time to rest. I love how she placed the images of her panty making process throughout the post. Once again her use of angles really brought out her closeup shots well.

IMG_7965.jpeg

IMG_7966.jpeg

The image of the panties lined up was taken in a softer light which allowed for a great view of the fabric. Getting the right lighting down for our projects makes a huge difference and improves the final showcase results. It’s a job well done ~ 😘

Aprende, comparte, transforma y conecta.💗💗 Learn, share, transform and connect.

by @carolinacardoza

@Carolina not only takes the time to highlight her detailed work but she shared some tips on her process. I hope everyone takes the time to read through this because what she speaks of having good photos and making our publications unique and standout are very good tips. It’s not just about what we write but how we write it and how we position our work.

IMG_7968.png

IMG_7967.png

I love the closeup of the embroidery process and how she laid out the pieces of this beautiful baby set. She shows us time and time again that she cares about the appearance of her blog and that’s why she is a well supported Hiver. Great effort pays off! 😊

Focus Challenge: Reinforcing the seams of my old bag.

by @creacioneslelys

One thing @creacioneslelys helped us to remember is just like the finished product needs attention it’s also great to focus in on the initial problem. She showed clearly where the split in her bag was. This makes her readers appreciate the ending work result even more.

IMG_7970.jpeg

IMG_7969.jpeg

Laying the bag out on a blanket rather than just on the bare floor was a good idea. It gives her photo more character and it’s soft on the eyes. It’s very evident the effort she put into making sure she shared some clear nice images ~ 😉

Congratulations to each of you for taking the time to improve your presentations. It will payoff greatly for you. Keep up the great work!!

You each have received 3 HBD in your wallets! 🤩👏🏽🤗

We would also like to acknowledge all of the participants from this week that stepped up to the challenge to make a difference in how they share their needlework. O wow! It is an honour to be included alongside such quality posts!

And some of them I'd missed first time around, so I'm grateful that this post is curated!
Thank you all at @needleworkmonday for this encouragement to discipline: it really was an area in which I was deficient, and which I hadn't thought was as important as I now see it is! It feels VERY good to make the additional effort of getting the garment out in the sunlight, and keeping the photos more ordered and fully-illustrative. It is WONDERFUL to see others also making the efforts to improve their photos: what a glorious stream of projects this is!!

Congratulazioni, tutti!

Thank you for such a response @clareartista. It delighted me to read that you now see the importance of having nice photos on our blogs. It makes a huge difference when we also enjoy our own photos.
