Better late than never is what they say so here I am with my Needle Work Monday on a Thursday. And it is that my seamstress inspiration (and time to sit down to sew) only came last night when I was organizing the thousands of boxes and mini-boxes with supplies that I have hanging around everywhere.
It's been a while since I did my last lingerie project, mainly because the last thing I did was complete my WIPs and also because I still need to buy a few things to do this type of project, but this time I wanted to do something taking advantage of the things that I still have left. That's how I rediscovered this blue elastic, which I bought in 2020, I don't know what for, but today it finally served its purpose, transforming into this beautiful and sensual harness ❣️.
Mejor tarde que nunca es lo que dicen así que aquí aparezco yo con mi Needle Work Monday un jueves. Y es que mi inspiración de costurera (y tiempo para sentarme a coser) llegó recién anoche cuando ordenaba las miles de cajas y mini-cajas con insumos que tengo dando vueltas por todos lados.
Pasó un buen rato desde que hice mi último proyecto de lencería, principalmente porque lo último que hice fue completar mis WIPs y también porque me faltan comprar algunas cosas para hacer este tipo de proyectos, pero esta vez quería hacer algo aprovechando las cosas que aún me quedan. Así fue como me volví a reencontrar con este elástico azul, el cuál compré en el 2020 no sé para qué pero al fin hoy tuvo su propósito transformándose en este lindo y sensual arnés ❣️.
I had the idea of making a harness for a long time but I was a little insecure about it because I didn't know exactly what steps to take. I spent my time looking at photos of beautiful harness designs, full of straps here and there, some indecipherable as to how to get into them, but so sexy that it made me want to make one for myself. After all, the base is nothing more than just the contours of a conventional bra, so starting from those measurements, I began to trace my design 😃.
Tenía la idea de hacer un arnés hace bastante tiempo pero me sentía un poco insegura al respecto por no saber qué medidas tomar exactamente. Me la pasé viendo fotos de diseños hermosos de arneses, llenos de tirantes por aquí y por allá, algunos indescifrables en cuánto a la forma de entrar en ellos, pero tan sensuales que me daban ganas de hacer uno para mí. Después de todo, la base no es más que solo los contornos de un corpiño convencional así que partiendo de esas medidas, empecé a trazar mi diseño 😃.
At first I had devised a model with more presence in the neckline: these garments, the more straps, hoops and hooks are prettier, but I didn't want to go so crazy either because it was the first time I did it and I was taking all the measurements on my body . After counting how much elastic I was going to need, all my dreams of sexy harness were shattered because I needed like three meters in total and I barely had two 😂.
Al principio había ideado un modelo con más presencia en la parte del escote: estas prendas mientras más tiras, aros y ganchos son más lindas, pero tampoco quería enloquecerme tanto porque fue la primera vez que lo hacía y estaba tomando todas las medidas sobre mi cuerpo. Luego de contar cuánto elástico iba a necesitar, todos mis sueños de arnés sensual fueron destrozados porque necesitaba como tres metros en total y apenas tenía dos 😂.
With what I had, it was barely enough to cover the lower bust, the edges of the chest, and it wasn't even long enough to make two straps. Of course I wasn't going to give up so the final design ended up being much simpler but it was still going to do its job.
Con lo que tenía apenas me alcanzaba para cubrir el bajo busto, los bordes del pecho y ni siquiera me daba el largo para hacer dos breteles. Por supuesto no me iba a rendir así que el diseño final terminó siendo mucho más simple pero igual iba a cumplir su función.
I naively thought that because I didn't have to sew fabric or retaining elastics, this project would be faster and easier, but it wasn't like that at all. The assembly must be done very carefully, paying attention that the sliders are not upside down and that all the seams are on the inside. It was midnight and I was sewing this 100% focused on not getting confused because I hate unsewing things 😂.
Ingenuamente llegué a pensar que por no tener que coser tela ni elásticos de retención este proyecto iba a ser más rápido y más sencillo, pero no fue así en lo absoluto. El ensamblado debe hacerse con muchísimo cuidado, prestando atención a que las correderas no queden al revés y que todas las costuras queden del lado de adentro. Era la media noche y yo cosiendo esto 100% enfocada en no confundirme porque odio descoser cosas 😂.
In the end, it took me almost the same time as making a whole bodice, because I had to make 25 elastic joints (I counted them) to be able to close the whole piece. There are those who find this a bit tedious, but it entertains me and I don't regret putting so many rings and details on it because that's what makes it beautiful now ❣️.
Al final tardé casi lo mismo que haciendo un corpiño entero, porque tuve que hacer 25 uniones de elástico (las conté) para poder cerrar toda la pieza. Hay quienes encuentran esto un poco tedioso, pero a mi me entretiene y no me arrepiendo de haberle puesto tantas argollas y detalles porque eso es lo que lo hacen hermoso ahora ❣️.
And this is how it looks like :). The good thing about this garment is that by having so many length regulators on the edges, they can be adjusted to different sizes. That is exactly what startups do: they make the largest size possible and can shrink it to their liking depending on the client 😃.
Y así es como queda puesto :). Lo bueno de esta prenda es que al tener tantos reguladores de longitud en los bordes pueden ajustarse a diferentes talles. Justamente eso es lo que hacen los emprendimientos: hacen el talle más grande posible y lo pueden ir achicando a su gusto dependiendo del cliente 😃.
This harness can be worn over or under the bodice, as well as over or under the shirt. It is a very sensual and delicate accessory, I am glad that it is now part of my wardrobe. Along with the absolutely beautiful bodice but I'm not going to show you those pictures 😂. For now I only bring you the combination with this muscular one and I like it in any of its combinations. Which one is your favorite?
Este arnés puede usarse por encima o por debajo del corpiño, así como también por encima o por debajo de la remera. Es un complemento muy sensual y delicado, me alegra que ahora sea parte de mi guardarropas. Junto con el corpiño que absolutamente hermoso pero no voy a mostrarles esas fotos 😂. Por ahora solo les traigo la combinación con esta musculosa y en cualquiera de sus combinaciones me gusta. ¿Cuál es tu preferida?
Like every time I finish a new project, now I feel a lot of pride for being able to do these beautiful things and improve myself. I like the world of lingerie and I want to explore everything in it: I still have to discover many things like bodysuits and garter belts that are also on my to-do list, but for now I'm fine with this advance. Now I just have to get more elastic and make more luxurious designs, I'm sure they will look great ❤️.
Como cada vez que termino un proyecto nuevo, ahora siento mucho orgullo por ser capaz de hacer estas cosas lindas y superarme a mi misma. Me gusta el mundo de la lencería y quiero explorar todo lo que hay en él: aún me faltan descubrir bastantes cosas como los bodys y los portaligas que también estan en mi lista de pendientes, pero por el momento estoy bien con este avance. Ahora solo me queda conseguir más elásticos y hacer diseños más lujuriosos, estoy segura de que se verán geniales ❤️.
