Receive a warm greeting from my dear colleagues at NeedleWorkMonday. Happy Tuesday everyone. In my post today I share with you the mini mat number 7 of my project of mats made from graphics and patterns from magazines and the web.
I chose this particular pattern from one of the magazines that my aunt recently gave me, which has been a great help especially when the electrical failures that affect our country leave me without the possibility of searching for inspiration on the web. As some probably already know, last Friday we Venezuelans were really very affected by a national blackout that left us without electricity service for more than 12 hours and the failures still persist. This situation is really stressful, but I personally try to face it with the best attitude and calmness possible. so I already have a plan B for each situation. Crochet is found in almost all of these alternative options, as long as the sunlight is with me.
I wove this rug precisely in the early hours of Friday afternoon. I chose a simple pattern and a bright colored thread and worked in the sunlight while I could. By night I had some puzzle games downloaded on my cell phone that kept me entertained until bedtime. The idea is to keep myself busy with activities that I like and in this way make the wait less tedious and uncomfortable.
Every time the solution to a problem or situation is out of my reach, what I do to not get anxious is to get busy with things that are within my reach. This action keeps my mind busy and feeling like I'm doing something other than waiting idly or biting my nails in anguish.
As I always say: "Waiting is active" there is always something we can do while we wait for the things we can't. We do the possible and God takes care of the impossible.
This is my reflection for today and my mat number 7 of many more to come. For now I say goodbye until a next publication.
Thanks for reading, greetings and blessings.
