Blessed Friday dear fellow NeedleWorkMonday members, I am happy to greet you again. In this post I want to share with you a new Granny square design I found on Pinterest while looking for ideas for my new project.
I really liked this design by Granny because it has an embossing stitch that I found very interesting and immediately wanted to try it. The pattern starts in the same way as a basic granny, the first and second rows are worked with groups of high stitches in the corners. From the third row on, the relief stitches start, right in the center part. A double crochet is knitted, then a raised double crochet in front, and a normal double crochet. In the following rows, this pattern continues to be repeated.
When I finished knitting the Granny, it occurred to me that this design is ideal for making pot holders, as the fabric is very tightly woven because of the raised stitches. To make the pot holder, knit two pieces of the same size and then join them together with a low stitch border.
Por ahora seguiré tejiendo otras tres piezas hasta completar un par de agarra ollas.
Gracias por leer, saludos y bendiciones.
For this design I decided to choose various shades of blue, a beige tone and the raw wick. Something totally different from the colors used in the reference image, in which you can see a kind of small flower in the center. Maybe next time I will use the same colors to achieve the same effect.
For now I will continue weaving three more pieces to complete a pair of pot holders.
Thanks for reading, greetings and blessings.
