ENG/ESP A way to make my Tapestry mat functional. / Una forma de hacer que mi tapete con Tapestry fuese funcional.

Blessed Needlepoint Monday. Two weeks ago I shared with you my first Tapestry, but I didn't want to just keep it in a drawer, I liked this technique so much that in the good sense of the word I wanted to show it off a bit. Then it occurred to me that I could make a small bag for my Rafaella and a big part of it was already made on the mat.

Bendecido lunes de agujas. Hace dos semanas les compartí mi primer Tapestry, pero no quería simplemente guardarlo en una gaveta, me gustó tanto está técnica que en el buen sentido de la palabra quería presumir un poco. Entonces se me ocurrió que podía realizar un pequeño bolso para mí Rafaella y una gran parte del mismo ya estaba hecho en el tapete.

I made a rectangle the same size as the mat, but I used the beige yarn that I used as the background for the mat. I took the measurement of the base plus the height of the rectangle and made a knitted strip on a chain base of 7 stitches plus 1 and single crochet in each row. This strip is attached to both sides of the bag by knitting slipped stitches with the red yarn. This will serve at the same time to add design to the bag.

Realicé un rectángulo del mismo tamaño del tapete, pero utilicé el hilo color beige que utilicé de fondo para el tapete. Tomé la medida de la base más la altura del rectángulo y realicé una tira tejida sobre una base de cadena de 7 puntos más 1 y puntos bajos en casa vuelta. Esta tira la fijamos a ambas caras del bolso haciendo un tejido de puntos deslizados con el hilo rojo. Esto nos servirá al mismo tiempo para añadirle diseño al bolso.

Since the mat has all the leftover threads on the back, it was necessary to make a lining for the inside of the bag. I cut a rectangle considering the measurements of the bag but leaving a centimeter for the seam, which by the way didn't look very nice because it was puckered, probably because I did too much tension in the stitches. To finish off the top edge, I applied cold silicone and made a fold. I did this to prevent the seams in this part from being visible.

En vista de que el tapete tiene todos los sobrantes de hilos en la parte de atrás, fue necesario realizar un forro para la parte interna del bolso. Corté un rectángulo considerando las medidas del bolso pero dejando un centímetro para la costura, que por cierto no quedó muy porque me quedó fruncida, ha de ser porque hice mucha tensión en las puntadas. Para rematar el borde superior, coloqué silicón frío y le hice un doblez. Esto lo hice para evitar que las costuras en esta parte quedarán visibles.

I also placed a magnet clasp to make it easier to close. But first I knitted a flower for each part of the brooch. I used the puff stitch. I glued them with cold silicone, but I must mention that I was careful to place it closed, because the first time I used this type of brooch I placed them separately and when I tried to match them once glued, they made the piece crooked. Luckily I remembered this little detail in time.

También coloqué un broche de imán para facilitar el cierre. Pero antes tejí una flor para cada parte del broche. Utilicé el punto puff. Los pegué con silicona fría, pero debo mencionarles que tuve cuidado de colocarlo cerrado, pues la primera vez que utilicé este tipo de broches los coloqué separado y al tratar de hacerlos coincidir una vez pegados, hacen que la pieza quede torcida. Con suerte recordé a tiempo este pequeño detalle.

As an accessory, I made some strawberries and they gave that tender touch to the bag. We sew the pendant that has the same width as the sides of the bag.

Cómo accesorio, realicé unas fresas y le dieron ese toque tierno al bolso. Cosemos el colgante que tiene el mismo ancho de los laterales del bolso.

This cute little bag is for my little Rafaella and she will be happy to use it to go for a walk or to church. I say goodbye and wish everyone a blessed Monday, a blessed week.
