Hello everybody,
Happy New Year!
This crocheted Sunflower Curtain Valance with New Year 2022 at the center, still work-in-progress is the best decor idea I can share on our community challenge.
My 2021 Curtain Valance is my inspiration for this project but this time I made sunflowers. It is a big project, especially I am busy cleaning our premises that super typhoon Odette brought. I just divided my so I was not able to finish the curtain on before new year and for this challenge.
I am very grateful that all materials or colors that I need is available in my stash. For the new year 2022, this is my version of the Peri Blue color of the year, royal blue, violet and striking pink because I do not have color red.
I started by first writing the graph, the numbers on the cross section paper.
Then, with 8 ply indophil yarn and 4.5mm hook I crocheted the base using double crochet with color beige following the graph and the numbers 2022 using the Peri Blue colors.
Done, for the center of the curtain.
For the Sunflower center I use 8 ply polyester yarn and my handy dandy steel hook, 2.5 mm.
Next rows, the petals I used indophil 4 ply yarn and 3mm hook.
Next rows, the leaves I used 4 ply indophil emerald green then on the last row I used pale green polyester yarn, with just single crochet.
There you go, here is the whole Sunflower, my own version.
To create the Valance I must make 21 whole Sunflower and 4 halves, join together. I tried rushing this project but my time is really lacking,I even crocheted under solar lamp on the evening. Till now electric supply is not yet restored on our Barangay and some parts of our City because of the heavy damage almost all electric post down by super typhoon Odette.
So, bare with my blog post I have not written the pattern, my cellphone battery is draining while am writing this draft. At least, I have an entry.
Thanks for dropping by...
