My nephew is getting married in July and the entire family is flying to Italy from South Africa, for the month. My sister-in-law wanted to buy a dress for the wedding, but she says that she searched high and low and was unable to find anything that she really liked, so she asked me to make something for her. Oh, my, what a responsibility, I’m quite nervous about it. She gave me an idea of what she’s looking for and I made a sample for her to try on, which I’m sending through to her on Wednesday this week. If all goes well and adjustments implemented, I’ll make a digital pattern for download for Hive’s NeedleWorkMonday community.
The dress is made using about 2m of Bon Bon stretch fabric and I’ve put binding around the armholes and at the back neck edge. So see below for the finished project and a few points during the construction.
If I make the digital pattern, I post a step-by-step tutorial, as usual (please comment if you’d like to see this pattern available for download)
