Greetings community, today I want to share some amigurumis that I made with the figure of the Divine Shepherd Virgin, many years ago I had made some figures of this virgin which is the one venerated by Catholics in my region, for some people and friends of the family who commissioned them to me, it spent a few years and then I made another one for another relative, from the latter I shared the result in a post but both in the first versions and in the second I never took note of my procedure that is why I did not share a tutorial , a few days ago a friend told me that his aunt wanted two amigurumis in the shape of the Divine Shepherd, just like the one he had bought for his grandmother, I was really surprised because I did not remember that, he sent me the photo in effect it was an amigurumi that I made in 2014, that is 7 years ago, when I saw the image I realized that there were things that I could improve and that of course in those years I did not have the same type of yarn to knit all parts of it, so I decided that I would try to stick to the old way so that both as her aunt and her grandmother had the similar amigurumis of the same Virgin, I would try to make these new virgins look better.

Amigurumi photo made in 2014
One of the main changes I made is that I used the same type of acrylic thread for all the parts of the amigurumi, this gave it a better look, also, I knit the heads using the cross stitch instead of the spiral V stitch. I started by knitting the head with beige yarn, I knitted 6 single crochets in a ring and 6 increases for six rounds, then I knitted nine rounds without increases, then I worked 6 decreases for 5 rounds, I changed to pink or blue yarn to knit the body knitting rounds of 3 increases interspersed with rounds without increases until obtaining the desired height for the figures that in total measure 10cm.
To knit the base I used gray yarn starting with 8 single crochets in a ring, knitting in a spiral with increases that would allow me to have a flat circle, then I filled the shape and sewed it to the base.
With brown yarn I knitted into a hat starting the same as the base with 8 single crochets in a ring, knitting in a spiral until obtaining a circle of the appropriate diameter for the head, then taking only the back side of the bitches I knit a round, then knit 3 more rounds, and then knit a round of increase taking only the side of the front of the stitches to begin to make the flap of the hat in a circular way.
For the hair, I took the inner edge of the hat to lift 15 chains and wove two single crochets in each of them to form the curls, in total I wove 15 curls per hat, then sewn them to the head.
For the arms I worked 8 single crochets in a ring with beige thread, I worked two rounds and changed to the blue or pink thread by knitting two increases for a total of 10 stitches that I continued for six rounds. I filled them with fiber and sewed them to the body with the same thread.
Unlike the amigurumi of 7 years ago which I made the cane by covering the wire with single crochets, this time I knitted 4 single crochets in a ring and knitted in a tubular shape for 35 rounds and then I inserted the wire and closed the knitting, then it I curved the wire to form a cane. I think that when I made that amigurumi so many years ago I didn't know that I was capable of knitting something so small with 4 tubular stitches just like I do now.
For the sheep I knitted two parts, the first one is the head which I started with 6 single crochets in a ring, then I knitted 6 increases to change to white thread for three rounds, filled and closed, for the body I started with the white thread 6 single crochets In a ring, 6 increases, six rounds and then 6 decreases. I sewed both parts and sewed two plastic pearls for the eyes, the ears and the tails I achieved them with 4 chains with 4 single crochets.
To knit the child I started with 6 single crochets in a ring, I knitted 6 increases for two rounds, then I knitted 5 rounds without increases and 6 decreases, then I changed to blue or pink yarn, I knitted 4 increases for two rounds, three rounds if increases for later fill in and make decreases. With black thread I wove the hair in the same way that I wove the head until the sixth round. I sewed the hair to the head.
I made the nose and ears with beige crochet thread, while the eyes and mouths I embroidered with sewing thread.
Resultado / Result
The client was satisfied and immediately noticed the difference with the previous version of this amigurumi, I think his aunt will be happy to have other Divina Pastora in his family, as I have always said I am not a believer but I respect others and always try to do the best for my clients.
