Today, I am sharing my newly learned crochet flower design, they are beautiful carnations, I made them following a pattern from a video. This time I used an orange colour, which I found a bit difficult to combine because even though it's a quite light colour, it looked a bit fluorescent.
At first I crocheted a flower following the exact pattern, but when I was about to finish it, I realised that the yarn I had left wasn't enough to make another one, so I had to take it apart and reduce the stitches, so I could use less yarn and have enough for the other one (I even had some left over when I finished both). In spite of that, it was almost the same as in the tutorial, maybe because my yarn was a bit thick.

El día de hoy hago este post para mostrar el nuevo diseño de flor que aprendí a tejer, son unos bonitos claveles. Los hice siguiendo el patrón de un video. En esta ocasión utilicé un color naranja, que me parecía un algo difícil de combinar porque a pesar de ser un color bastante claro, se veía un poco fosforescente.
Al principio tejí una flor siguiendo el patrón exacto, pero cuando estaba a punto de terminar de hacerla, me di cuenta que el hilo que me quedaba no iba alcanzar para hacer otra, por lo que tuve que desarmarla y disminuir los puntos, así ocupar menos lana y que me alcance para la otra (hasta me sobró un poco al terminar ambas). A pesar de eso quedó casi igual al del tutorial, quizá porque mi lana era un poco gruesa.
To start with, make a circle like a little basket or something like that and then change colour to make the flower. For the petals, use the same technique as for the ruffles (two stitches together in one stitch) for two rows. To give it more shape and volume, at the end you make a row with 3 chain stitches and a single crochet in each stitch.
Para empezar se trata de hacer un circulo como una canastita o algo así y luego cambiar de color para hacer la flor. En la parte de los pétalos se usa la misma técnica que para hacer volados (dos puntos juntos en un solo punto) durante dos vueltas. Para darle más forma y volumen, al final se hace una vuelta haciendo 3 cadenetas y un punto bajo en cada punto.
The leaves have few stitches and only one row of single crochet.
Las hojas llevan pocos puntos y se hacen en una sola vuelta de puntos bajos.
Once I had all the parts, the first thing I did was to cover the stem and put the leaf on it to make the rest easier. Then I made a kind of basting around the green part and put the stick and the stuffing to close it. I had a difficulty because the stem was moving despite having put glue on it, and I solved this problem by making it go all the way to the top, between the petals, and then I put glue so that they stay together and the petals don't "open" and the stem doesn't show.
Una vez que tuve todas las partes, lo primero que hice fue forrar el tallo y colocarle la hoja para facilitar el resto. Luego se hace una especie de hilván alrededor de la parte verde y colocamos el palillo y el relleno para cerrarlo. Yo tuve una dificultad porque el tallo se movía a pesar de haberle puesto pegamento, y solucioné este problema haciendolo pasar hasta la parte de arriba, entre los pétalos, y luego puse pegamento para que queden juntos y no se "abran" los pétalos y tampoco se vea el tallo.
This is what these little flowers look like. I really enjoyed making them, especially because they don't require any complicated technique.
Así es como se ven estas florecitas. Disfruté mucho tejiéndolas, sobre todo porque no requieren ninguna técnica complicada y aún así logran verse muy llamativas.
