I feel like a lot of things have happened the past days or weeks. I didn't even have the energy to write here anymore! I actually missed it, and have attempted writing a post a few times, but my body just wouldn't and couldn't do it.
So I am happy to be able be able to say that, "I am finally here again with another story to share!!!" Yay! Haha
I still have been crocheting everyday, working on big projects. There were days when I got to finish a few rows while other nights were spent frogging them. Hahaha. I have learned to embrace the painful fact that frogging rows and rows of stitches is part of the process in creating something beautiful. And really, it is worth it.
In this post, I will be talking about another project that I am very proud of. I finished another freehand crochet top!!! YAY! This is my second one na, so far.
The idea for this top started when I wanted to try out a new stitch that piqued my interest. I wanted it to be simple. I drew made a rough draft of the design, and this was how it first looked like. I even asked a few people which of the two they thought was better.
As I made progress with the project, I kept on getting new ideas to add into it so it wouldn't look too plain. I saw some inspos both online and in my drawer. I tweaked the design a couple of times until I finally settled with a certain design. This top is extra special for me, not only because I designed it, but also because my Papa had a little input on it.
One night, while I was adding the straps, I asked for my Papa's feedback on the strap width, as Mama was already asleep then. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much because he is not fond of styling or any fashion-related. And true enough, his inital response was, "Okay lang." Hahahaha Oh well, I kinda knew it. But theeeeen. He looked up again and studied the top for a few seconds before adding that I should make the strap thicker because the original thinner strap didn't go so well with the overall design.
I was so happy to hear a response from him more that just an "okay," that I did follow his suggestion. Hahaha. Mama, on the other hand, once asked me why I keep on using two colors in one top. In my first crochet top kasi, I used two colors, too. Hahaha I truth is, aside from being scared of running out a certain color of yarn, I also don't know why. Hahaha.
I am still trying to figure out how to measure myself to work with certain yarn fibers, so I had to tweak this top quite a lot as well, as I went. ^^
By the way, I am calling this the Mellow Top to name after one of my dogs, Caramel, who I sometimes call Melli or Mello. Haha When I looked it up online, Mellow means gentle or soft, and I am so amazed because while working on this top, I kept of thinking about how soft it is! Haha Perfect!
Anyway, here is me, wearing Mellow. Hihi Oh! Did I mention that it can be worn with either side facing front? Yup! We love two-way tops here. Haha
Thank you for reading!
Stay sane and safe!
Let's spread happiness.
