THE MAKING OF A BLOUSE WITH PLEATS AND A SIMPLE CUP HAND

Hello fellow hivers, it's the beginning of a new and productive week. To Kickstart, I will be taking us through the process of making a lined Ankara blouse top, with pleats at the bottom and a cup hand sleeve style. So last week, my brother made a dress of shirt and trouser but could not exhaust the whole of the six yards of material he took along with him. He came back with 1 and half yards and I decided to make something out of it. Hence, I ended up making this blouse that suits virtually everything. I intend to wear it with a pant trouser, a Jean through, a black, wine or ash color skirts, I could even wear it on a sleeveless fitted gown.

We can never go wrong with fashion as it affords us different opinions on what and how to wear a dress. So, in making the blouse, it's a style with a high back bodice, the front is lower because unlike the usual way, I decided to fix the zipper at the front.

The material was flexible and not thick enough, so I had to double it by lining it with a black material, all in a bid to give it more weight.

This was after lining the divided front parts, that the darts measuring 8cm wide and 7cm long.

Like I said in the beginning, its a pleated blouse, hence the picture above is an 11inch piece of one and half material to achieve this. It is very long because I want to be full and chic when we were it.

A cup hand sleeve is a kind of sleeve that does not cover the entire armhole. It on cover half of it. For instance, if the armhole measures 8inches,the cup hand sleeve will be like 4 or 5 inches. The picture above is a representation of how it looks like.

This is the first aspect of the dress, I have attached the front part to the back part, now I have to attach the pleated part to it. Coming to thing of it, one can actually use that as a small jacket over a sleeveless clothing.

This is what it looked like after adding the pleats. It came out nice.

I have added the zipper here as well... It's almost done we are just left with the sleeves.

Yaaaay... It looks so good and fitted although it still needs some adjustment but no doubt I am proud of my work so far.

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the final product but it was so fine.

Thanks for stopping by my blog...

Beautiful blouse you made, I particularly love the front zipper details, instead of it being regularly at the back.

Thank you

Thank you

Welcome.

The first aspect of the dress could be used for a jacket on a dress and it will suit fine. But I love the end result. So beautiful 😍
You tried.

Thank you

Happy Monday to you. I loved this zip-front design. Definitely more comfortable to wear when there's no one to zip up your back haha. Well done :)

Thank you

It does look nice and fitted. Fine work.
