Good day, everyone. Trust you all had or are having a great day.
Follow the journey of how I made my sister’s Barbie theme dress for her birthday. Just like most styles I attempt, this was the first time I was making this dress, and that too for such a big occasion.

A little about my sister you must know was that she never ever played with her birthday shoot, and this was her eighteenth, so it was pretty much a big deal. I started out by making sash for her.
(You can check out the update on how I made my sash on the 27th on my blog.)

Anyway, this was more challenging because we were in two different states. I was in school, and she was still back at home with the family.
So I had to be careful to work with the accurate measurements.
Here are the l measurements she sent:
Bust: 34 upper bust, 32
Waist: 25 and half
Hips: 36
Half length: 16
Under burst 11 and half
And I had to improvise to get:
Nipple to Nipple: 7
Full length: 54
I started by cutting the upper part on a piece of paper and transferring it to my fabrics.

I join the lining together and iron the main fabric to the gum stay.

I didn’t have the strength to document the process of cutting the down piece and adding the bra cup, but just so you know, it wasn’t easy, but it was worth it.
—-
When I was done with the dress, I wanted on to cutting the detachable train and a bow along with it. It was just last minute, but I had to pump up her dress because it was her 18th.

All in all, the dress came out really well, and I’m so proud of myself. I however wish I added a strap sleeve as the front was dripping and in some way too revealing, but the design went well and an EXCLAIMER; it an original design by @gemangel😊🙊.
Also nit that all pictures were captured by me.
Thank you so much for engaging. Till next time😊🫶
