Hello everyone. How are you all doing. I hope you all are fine and enjoying the best of your health and fitness. So much has happened in the past few weeks and I don't know where to start from.It's been a long time since I last posted. It is because I was being so lazy to write the post 😂. I guess it's winter that makes you inactive. Also it's a long weekend this time because due to some issues our uni is closed. So it's very rare now that I leave my bed 😂. It was cousins wedding last Thursday and it was so good . I had so much fun. And I also crocheted these very cute little baby boots.
As I said that so much is happening, I also came to know that my friend is going to have a baby soon. As soon as she told me I was screaming with happiness and happy tears ran out of my eyes. She is my friend since childhood and seeing her become a mother is all I could ever ask for. I hugged her and we both were so happy and crying at the same time 😭. I saw her after almost a year of her marriage as she lives abroad now . She invited me to her house and gave me the big news. We had so much fun ,discussed different names for the baby. Then I went home but I still couldn't stop thinking about the coming baby🥺 . I decided to crochet baby boots. I started looking for different styles of boots and these were the best. So I decided to make them.
For this I have used very basic things. I used a 3 ply maroon, yellow and purple colour yarn, a darning needle, stitch markers (to keep count of stitches) and a 3mm crochet hook. For the base I have used yellow and purple colour. You can make the base of same colour as the boot but I decided to make it of a different colour so that it pops . As you can see the colour combination looks good. To make the base it takes almost 3 three rounds and all the rounds involve increasing stitches. I used stitch markers in every round so that the boots turn out perfect. As I was so conscious about the stitches it took me almost 30 minutes to make the base only
Now for the boot, I used the maroon yarn. First round is all about making half double crochet across the length of the base. As for the base we used increasing stitches but for the upper part of boots we are going to use decreasing stitches (two stitches together). It takes almost 13 rounds to complete/reach the desired length. It took me so much time . I had to undone it several times because I just keep forgetting the count of stitches 😔. But I was so excited to complete it so I didn't give up. I also added a little lining of yellow at the end of the boots. This was the final result.
I couldn't get enough of the colour combination. I was so happy to see how it turned out. I tried to make it gender neutral as we still don't know if it is going to be a baby girl or baby boy. But I am sure that I am going to love him/her the most. I haven't showed the boots to my bestie as well. I am thinking of giving her a surprise as she did for me. I have some more things planned to crochet.
